ok guys i know we have covered this either as a topic or in addition to a topic before, and not to long ago.
im looking for better quality painted/finished strat bodies.
where should i start looking? this body will be fitted with a MIM strat neck
so fit and finish quality is a must.
as long as we are on the topic, how about necks of quality?
non of that mighty mite junk either please guys.

You should try Warmoth. They have quality necks and bodies and you can also have them custom made. Theyre a bit pricey though

Something wrong with an OEM Fender body?

The Stratosphere on Ebay always has a nice selection.

For a licensed aftermarket body, I'd go with Allparts. They offer a lot of custom-color finishes and they're very well done.

How many parts are the allparts bodies? I think when you go with the more expensive guys (Warmoth ect.) you can get fewer pieces, maybe even 1 piece, and a more select wood. If these things are not that important then I'd go cheaper.

Don't forget Carvin, you can build a whole parts guitar from their site, and finish options are amazing.

Slowly but surely Way Cool is tapping into every aspect of guitar building, but not letting out any info about his secret guitar build he's apparently working on... come on, mate, what about some details? 8)

Nutter

im working on 3 nutter.
1 is the squire you desire project.
2 im building a MIM Custom
3 is a beauty and the beast build.

1. so many people down the squire for potential.
i set some rules with this build. first, every part i buy has to be used if at all possible. the total cost has to be under $500.
i bought a brown squire. i hate with a passion the color brown lol.
thing is, this guitar has grown on me. i dont play it but look at it. its choc brown with a blk pickguard and chrome hardware.
ive named it chocolate. ive picked up a seymour duncan hum and
have a couple better MIM strat pups to go with its H/S/S config.
i just bought a new never used neck with fender better quality tuners than a squire has. im buying american fender tuners for the neck and the current neck tuners will go to choc. choc will be a slow build as finding used quality parts can be tricky. folks want a premium these days for used parts.
2 is a build that i'll even relic at the end. i need a nice beater that i can count on. i dont have many strats im comfortable leaving the house with.
so there is a need that ive gotta fill, besides, there no partscasters in the house at this point. every player needs a partscaster in his/her life.
3, beauty and the beast. heres parts caster that should take your breath away. i dont often see a guitar with a "wow factor" attached to it.
ive seen some nice strats over the yrs and owned/own a lot of them myself. even still the wow seems to be lacking and its usually in the looks dept. every strat i see looks like every other strat, its getting boring actually. i want something that as soon as i open the case your eyes light up and a smile creeps across you face. you almost dont want to pick it up because you know finger prints will be left behind.
you know how in movies when they open the case or box you see that bright light come up on the actors face but they dont show you whats in the case, you just see that bright light and the "holy shiot" look on the actors face? now you get the idea.
i have a 50th ann amer deluxe strat that has a neck on it to die for.
plays amazing. feels amazing. blow for blow the best playing neck ive ever had in these hands. it just fits. i need some help getting the stats on this neck but dont know where to look. its perfect for this build.
the pickups are gonna be trouble. i want noiseless but they have got to be warm. i want to hit the upper low end, all the middle, and to the mid high end range. not to much bass but not to bright sounding. there are alot of nice pups out there i just need to be educated on whos who and whats what. all ive ever known is marzio and duncan. i dont want to use them for this guitar.
trems, i need educated on trems bad. ive always been a floyd guy.
i dont want floyd for this project. i want something that almost looks plain jane until you get up on it. then you realize theres a lot of thought and function going on with that chunk of steel lol. i need smooth, sustain, and beauty. i dont want to give to much away on this project lol.
it will take every bit of a yr to build just because of the planning and lack of education in some areas. this guitar will be beautiful and play amazingly.
two qualities i dont find in most guitars. usually its a bit of each one.
