Albert was certainly impressed with Stevie's playing and at one point stopped playing himself and started to cheer and clap as Stevie cut loose with one of his fretboard blistering solos. It absolutely amazes me how Stevie could bend these huge cables he uses for strings and so effortlessly but then again by the way he screws up his face on some bends it probably hurt like hell.

And he was playing in standard with Albert too. I hope he at least went down to .12s or .11s for that.

One thing I found interesting, as we all know Stratocasters' reputation for going out of tune relatively easy, it was Abert King was the one having to constantly retune his Custom Flying V while playing.

Strats will stay in tune for eons if people took the time to set them up right and strung new strings properly when installing them. When you take an extra 10 or 15 minutes to change a set of strings it makes the world of difference.Stevie's tech took great pains to have his guitar stay in tune even after violent whammy abuse. He even used to slide plastic wire covering over the last few millimetres of the ball end of the string to keep it from binding in the bridge.
