Spent most of the weekend finalizing the cosmetic "skin" for the new forums and believe I've got it nailed although I'm going to wait and see what it feels like to me tomorrow morning after not having viewed it for a few hours -- my "morning after" test. :-) Slight departure cosmetically from what we have here currently.

Most importantly, though, are not the new cosmetics but rather the new functionality: particularly private messaging and personalized avatars. Can't wait to turn this thing on, it's going to make it soooooo much easier to get to really start knowing each other!!

Well, since everyone agreed to shut it down I'm going to pick option 2 and say keep it running

I'm not sure how Fender's system is configured... are we talking about a complete shutdown here? So reading the forums is not an option? For 3 days if anyone does a search and google provides a link to a post on the forum it won't be accessible... but I guess google caches lots of pages so it might still be possible to read it.

If it's not too complicated and not too much work, having the web site replicated somewhere else with read only access while the upgrade is taking place would be nice, just a thought.

Good luck Brad!

I'm in agreement with the VFW's(Veterans of Fender Wars?). Give it a rest.
After this TBO nightmare, it certainly could use it.

OK, getting ready to pull the plug here in about 15 to 30 minutes ... the next few days promise to be incredibly intense so I'm trying to get a jump start on things by going ahead and getting things started this evening. We'll see you all on the other side!
