Yup, put her in drydock and let the forum-feeders go on shore leave for a few days.

They'll return happy to see the ship with a new coat of paint and some updates.

Thank you for doing this, Brad and Fender.

This should be cool 8) thanks Brad and the best of luck to ya'll!

...hopefully this can fix the little bug I get when the forum won't let me log in for some odd hours, or days, or even for a months period (which happened last August) :?

Brad,

Superior planning yields superior results. Shut it down entirely so your group can work unfettered for as long as required.

As always, thank you and your associates for this forum.

+1 Brad, and well said Martian, and i also thank you, and all of the great people behind the scenes, very much for all you do, to keep this, in my humble opinion, the best music community on the web. 8)

I have to agree. Shut her down for a few days and when you come back, it will be all new and sparkely.

Well I'm willing to have it shut down for a few days...especially if it's going to come back "sparkely".

Go for it Brad, and like everyone is saying, thanks!

Congradulations Brad. It has been long overdue as you have already said. Whenever it returns I believe it will be very much appreciated...

A complete shutdown makes the most sense - - and then voila - - the new Mothership forum sets sail on the new voyage! 8)

Shut it down. The forumites could use some time looking up from their computer from time to time, and maybe get out to buy their loved ones some christmas/holiday presents

Having done Admin work for a number of years I know the best way is with a complete shutdown. So that's my vote.

Just make sure you have done a clean BACKUP of the data first! Make sure your BACKUP is good too!

When will you do it?
Between Christmas and New Years?

shut'er down. if anything goes wrong we completely understand that its nevins fault.

brad i have to beg for a request and i hope its simple to do for your staff,
i think folks will agree (going WAY out on a limb with that) we need a tech
section. this would be a section where we can talk repairs and builds and even mods. it would basiclly be a how-to section. this way it would be more easy to look those type of questions up and do some serious reading. sure we have the lounge for that now but there are enough of these type posts that a how-to section would be nice.
doing so we understand that past posts of this nature would not be there
but a fresh section at start up.
also will you be giving us a ETA on the forum reboot?

Thanks for the heads up Brad. It's a great forum and I'm sure it'll be better after the tune up.
