Today I went out to town to get a nameplate engraved for my new Epi Les Paul Lucy and had 1 1/2 hrs. to waste so I took a run out to Reid Music where I bought Lucy and saw a nice little Marshall Micro Stack-the price was right so I bought it as I wanted a tiny battery operated practice amp for ages.Although it doesn't roar or have the same sound fidelity as a big Marshall it's a cool little amp but it's not easy to get a clean sound from it as you can with the Vox Amplug but then again that only uses headphones unless you buy the optional powered cab.Anyway I took pix of Lucy with her new nameplate and the Marshall standing beside her and will post later. BTW has anyone figured out why I called her LUCY? It should be obvious to those who know my biggest influences.

No she doesn't have diamond inlays but I do get what you're alluding to and you are close but no cigar, the prize for guessing is a one year supply of air guitar strings and picks.

Yeah, I was making a veiled reference to George's Les Paul Lucy.

Make yourself a stereo to mono lead and plug the headphone out of the MS2/4 into the effects return of your 4210. Best get some ear plugs in too.
One of the best sounds I've ever heard.

Hi dvlsadvc8t I thought that you were alluding to Lucy in the sky with diamonds but you were right after all,I named her after Georges Les Paul that Clapton gave him after he played it on While My Guitar... so you win all the air guitar goodies. Thanks for the tip Nik,I think that I already have a stereo to mono adapter so I'll have to give her a try asthe MS 4 sounds like it's capable of making a great little preamp.

Keep the volume down on the MS4 mate. It's capable of knocking out way more power than a normal preamp.
Also you'll lose the volume control off the amp but be controling the power section from the MS4. So make sure you've plenty of distance between your amp and sane members of humanity.

Brilliant sound though, like Angus meets Glen Tipton.

Lucy is a hip name for a guitar and getting a nameplate made is downright classy. Good on you. Have fun but be careful about your ears.

Thanks for stimulating the economy. We should all get out and get some gear. It's the best thing for the holidays.

I think we'd get better results by boycoting banks and forcing them into giving us a better deal.

We wouldn't be charging headlong back into that trap we just suffered, that way would we?

It's just a silver nameplate about 1/2 " X 2 1/2 " I wanted Old English script in all capital letters but they only put the L in caps and the rest in lower case but it still looks pretty classy. Now I'm going to try out Nik's suggestion and will fill you all in on the results.

I just tried the Ms 4 into the effects return input but it was a no go,so the adapter couldn't have been a stereo to mono job after all.I'll have to go out tomorrow and pick up a proper one-I gotta try this idea out now that my curiosity has been piqued.
