Man I decided a year and a half ago to drop the plectrum for everything outside band stuff. So I just use fingers at home. I only noticed it get to a point where I can say 'yeah that sounds better' on Wednesday.
Even still that little best amplifier in the world (to cite Knopfler) gets used for fast or heavy.
I used to switch with ease as a kid. One day I'll get back to that. Wednesday was a stepping stone or hindsight is 20/20 rose tinted.

wow. Why did u even put this topic on the website? anyone with a brain knows that all gibson makes is abunch of muddy sounding heavy metal guitars. every good guitarist either owns or plays a fender. Who invented the first solidbody guitar? fender. Who was always ahead in sales and popularity? fender. sure, gibson invented the humbucker but humbuckers SOUND BAD

Why Choose.... imo there is no best or even better for that fact a fender does what a fender does and a gibson does what a gibson does. You have two great guitars.
