i went with tears in heaven just because its such a good song. and a little question for those who may know since its on this topic. how old was his son when his son died. cuz i know that he wrote the song because of his sons death but i dont know how old he was.

cocaine is actually a JJ Cale song Eric just made it popular. By the way Road to Escondido is my favorite collaberation album, its Eric Clapton and JJ Cale.

My favorite "pure" Clapton tune (all his work, nobodies else's as far as I know), which is not on the list, would have to be "It's in the way that you use it", this song is as rare as hens teeth. I love the solo in that song.

Layla wouldn't have been worth a flip if it hadn't been for Duane Allmans little contribution.

Cocaine never would've been one of his hits if J.J. Cale hadn't written it first.

Crossroads was one of his best arragements in my opinion, but just as always, it's not pure clapton, Robert Johnson wrote it first.

After Midnight was.........well, you get the idea. Speaking of which, I love the version of After Midnight by Clapton and Cale on the 2004 crossroads festival, better than Claptons recorded version if you ask me.

It Doesn't matter who wrote or who plays with him Eric does an excellent job on all the songs he plays.

None of those you posted. Sunshine of Your Love or Bellbottom Blues would be up there. He has recorded a lot of really good songs.
