for a long time i have a question in my mind, that i want to ask Fender.
there are so much signature guitars, lots of artists guitars, lots of custom guitars that Fender is building, but in all those years there is no Jimi guitar.the most representative Fender player, and the one who influenced all the Fender players, Jimi Hendrix , doesn't have a Fender Guitar with his name on it. Many could say that any Strat can be a Jimi guitar, but i would still love to see a Jimi Hendrix Fender Strat.

So why there is no Jimi Hendrix guitar built by Fender?

The family, which owns Jimi's naming rights, must be onboard for that to happen. Fender did make the Voodoo Stratocaster in the late 90's.

yes there is a Jimi gibson flying V , and that's a problem, too :D
Jimi played 90% on Fender, so there has to be a Fender Jimi Hendrix guitar.

Yeah, as someone previously mentioned, its due to the various legal issues regarding Jimi's estate and the Hendrix family which is why at times there seems to be a lack of Jimi stuff because the family is too busy fighting amongst themselves, other parties, and lawyers trying to get Jimi's estate figured out.

There's the Voodoo Strat, the Woodstock Strat and the Monterey Strat.
Also there are '69 and '70s reissues.

Unfortunately, it has to do with Hendrix's family.

You are welcome.

That link pretty much covers the Whole Story about Fender and its various Jimi Hendrix-related models over the years.

Cheers.
