Er... nope. I must be being pretty dense but I still don't see what is supposed to be aligned with what, in a way that it wasn't the day or the year before. Draw me a diagram.

And what is this energy that "typically" streams from the center of the galaxy to Earth?

BTW. I'm descended from the people who discovered gravity, electromagnetism, the atom and most important of all, champagne. Amongst thousands of other things. So I expect that makes me some sort of expert on the universe, huh? :D

again, i know nothing about astronomy, just quoted what that particular scientist said "the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years." since that seems to be what much of the hysteria spurs from regarding the astronomy side of the calendar ending.

your descendants sound cool! i'd be expecting some kind of inheritance for all that!

BCB absolutely agree with you mate, and all respect to the Mayan people.
Any excuse for a booze up I say!

Nah seriously there aint enough celebration in the world. Forget Christmas and all the other holidays that are forced on us to get us to buy (I absolutely love Christmas, no joke). We don't have any time where as a people, we just celebrate being people and ditch the whole oneupmanship that seems inherent to the human race. Just get on with being ourselves for one day.

If 2012 gives me that, then I'll buy into any cult or club offering it.

Erm, well I know how to set up a guitar. Isaac Newton would have been impressed with that, I'm sure. That a good enough inheritance? :D

Id say that is an excellent inheritance. You can also advertise your setups as being perfectly gravitationally intonated and electomagnetically and atomically aligned for the ultimate in tone and include a bottle of Champagne with each completed setup!

Now hold on! That's going too far! Champagne is one thing upon which I am an absolute expert. And the most important thing I know about it is: you don't give it away!

Hot damn: I'm sending them off with a guitar that is gravitationally intonated and electomagnetically and atomically aligned. That sounds pretty fine - let them be satisfied with that!

Good grief: Michael Faraday would be turning in his grave - and not from electromagnetic induction!

:D

Cheers - C

PS What an entertaining thread. 8)

Theres something incredibly wrong with the idea of drinking champagne at a blues jam.

Shouldn't it be whiskey, vinegar, battery acid or something.

How cold?

There's a neat thing with champagne. When you try to chill it in a hurry by putting it in the freezer and then leave it too long, just to the point it is starting to freeze solid, and then you open it - the wine just spurts out in an endless stream like a rocket engine that hits the ceiling and keeps right on going till the bottle is nearly empty.

It's counter-intuitive, cos you'd think the coldness would calm down the exapansive energy of the fizz, but that is what happens. Other stronger forces of physics at play.

Nothing you can do to stop that wine flying everywhere and being wasted. But it is highly entertaining to try and put your mouth over the bottle top and attempt to swallow at least some of it - cos then your face blows up like a balloon in a second under the pressure. Instant Dizzy Gillespie impersonation.

It's a great party trick. Your wife will love it! :D

Enjoy - C

....no, no, no, you have it all wrong...in the year 2112 some long haired dude is going to find a guitar in a cave with a stream running through it and the priests are going to condemn him for thinking that there is some kind of gift in music and then there is going to be some kind of Y2k thing.......

wait...I'm confused........ :?

Did someone say they had a Milky Way?.....thats my favorite candy bar!

Practicing and perfecting a thoroughly oppressive writing style filled with historical inaccuracies.
