well for christmas i had my eye on a jazzmaster black top and i've given up trying to look for a lefty version so i was considering south pawing the guitar. Any cons to doing this?

What does "south pawing" mean?

If it's reversing, yeah, go for it!

I think the term southpaw refers to a left handed baseball pitcher.

He means stringing a right handed one lefty.
You wouldn't have as good access to the upper fretboard as you would normally, but neither of the jazzmaster's pickups are angled, so it would sound the same as normal.

That's what I thought by 'reversing' - go for it!
