Look into the Bose L1.
It's a stackable system which you can add on or just start with a small cabinet.

Some of the small multi-voice types have an acoustic setting and some even an acoustic /microphone input.

A buddy of mine bought his daughter a Traynor acoustic guitar/mic amp for a decent price and she's using it all the time for gigging and loves it.

Another option is the smallest Fender Passport portable PA. Just plug into a LR Baggs DI and into the PA. I know a professional who does gigs at clubs and bars and this is what he uses for small venues for his acoustic. And it's portable.

There's no steadfast rule that you have to buy a strictly acoustic guitar amp although one that's built specifically for acoustic will sound better. To a person starting out just about any decent guitar amp will do.I use a regular guitar amp with my Fender Stratacoustic and it sounds great just through that.
