Nothing new there, a wall of stacks of unplugged Marshalls or just fronts has been used many times by numerous bands.

Exactly. Townsends as deaf as a post for using 2 100watt full stacks. What on earth makes anyone think that the likes of Slayer are going to use 30+ 4x12's onstage.

I'm sure lots of bands use recorded music in addition to what they're actually playing.
Guys here in Nashville that worked at Starwood Amphitheatre in the past told me that.

It goes to show ya, There's Selling Out, and then there's SELLING OUT. That's why I never go to Large Venues to see bands anymore, I only go to clubs, and if the band is Too Big to play a club because the can't sell enough tickets, or set up the Stack Facade, I buy the CD. 8)

i was quite pleased when i saw AiC doesnt use the "stack facade" when i saw them.... they havent sold out 8)
