Looks like it is $867 or so as well, which makes it a steal given the specs, limited production and the case.

edit: actually I found it for $699 here

Bah it's only something he nicked off the LP master.

It looks like it could be a great guitar from Gibson for a change.I entered the contest,it seems that people from Canada and the U.S. can enter. I've seen several Canadian winners to Gibson sponsored contests-go figure.

Because no one knew who he was when he actually played Strats.

real guitarists and guitar fans knew who he was, it was POP culture who didn't know who he was. the guy hasnt actually been a secret at al, to the non POP audience that it. and we all know it is "what sells to the pop culture" that gets marketed, or in this case "who" sells to the pop culture that gets his own sig guitar. Still, Fender dropped the ball on this one something serious.

He doesn't impress me. He seems to be a nice guy though, just saying that there are tons of players in his league that never make it to the big time.
Thanks for clearing that up for us........... Mike

I'm not gonna lie, I don't like him either. I've tried to, but he just doesn't impress me.

...but you gotta admit that the Gibson (Epiphone) Les Paul goldtop is one of the coolest looking and sounding guitars around. It just looks like it will sound good (in anyones hands)....you know what I mean?

LOL, Did you open for BB King when you were 12? The guy is talented and does something with the kids teaching Blues in schools. Yeah he is a nice guy and he's been around a long time. There are lot of great undiscovered musicians. He's a lot more talented than Mayer, just not as popular with the girls.

Since one opinion is as valid as the next, I'll share mine. I think Joe Bonamassa is an amazing guitar player and showman.

I just saw him a few weeks ago and the show was maybe the best concert I ever attended. I've see some great shows before, (Danny Gatton, Roger Waters, Wilco, Black Keys etc.)

Before seeing him live, I already liked his style of music, but I really didn't know what a great player he is until I witnessed it. Even more goes for his singing and stage presence. I don't think his talent really comes through on Youtube, recordings, or DVDs. I thought he was just another good guy. After seeing the show, I think he is world class.

Love him or hate him, that's why they make vanilla and chocolate.

As far as the Epi goes, (although I feel a little bad saying it on the Fender Forum), I have 2 Epi Les Pauls and I love em. I have a custom that I put Duncans in and I have the 1956 goldtop which I left stock. I think they play amazing and I love the look, fit and finish on both. The Bonamassa model looks extremely cool with the Gold Top and Black back, and I think it's a pretty good value at $699 with the burstbuckers and nice case. You could always get a set of knobs for ten bucks if they turn you off, but all in all a very nice package.
