Hey everyone. Just a quick question. So I have been looking around for a Strat, I'm not in any big hurry to buy it, but if the right deal presents itself you never know. So my question is does anyone know of any American Strats that come or came in Lake PLacid Blue? I know currently they have the Classic series 60s model that comes in LPB but that seems to be it, and I'd prefer to buy used to get the best for the buck. When I was a kid it seems like there were a ton of LPB Strats in music stores, but I wouldn't have known at that point if they were american models or not. So what models should I be looking for to find something in LPB? Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out here.

Yes used would be the only way to go because Fender doesn't offer the AVRI '62 in LPB anymore. I'm not sure if they offered LPB on the AVRI '57 at one time. I've never seen a LPB American Standard or American Series.

So basically find a used AVRI '62 (or possibly '57) or Custom Shop if you must have US made. Otherwise, look to a Japanese made Fender since they get all the cool colors but are so hard to find here

edit: I guess Fender did make an AVRI '57 in LBP. I just ran across this site: http://www.fenderreissue.com/corona-era

Cool thanks metro. And yeah it looks like the CS builds a lot of LPB guitars actually. It seems that if it's that popular through them they would offer it on something higher end than the standard series. I would really like a plain old am standard in LPB but I may just have to keep looking for a while. 2011 is gonna be a year of acquiring lots of stuff since I was good and only bought one guitar this year. So I'm sure there will be other things to keep me occupied until I find that right strat.

Tim,
Take a look at the MIMs. I have one in LPB and it is one of the best guitars I have ever owned. Fit finish and sound are amazing!

Yeah, I have a MIM Tele that I have had no issues with at all. I have been wanting a MIA strat for a while now. But LPB is the most important feature for it to have IMO. I can mod everything else.

I hear you. My MIM strat gets all the play...my MIA Strat just sits in the case. I love the feel and sound of my MIM. Only thing about it that I don't like is the string tree...I ordered a new tree for it other than that fantastic guitar!!

Be carefull of blue strats mate. I had one for awhile, then set fire to it. I always thought a blue and white strat would be right up my street. Blue's my favourite colour, my favourite team's colours too. A blue strat is great on photo's, when their someone elses.

Something weird about it, i'd go snot green of canary yellow before I tried blue again.

Have a fortnight with one if you can. Their different in person, I found. Though part of me still yearns for a blue strat.

Here's my blue strat under construction. It's red now, after my temper (which lasted 18months) Ceri has it.

Niki-I've wanted a Lake Placid Blue Strat since I first started playing. I don't even think I'd play it half as often as my Tele if I was to get one, but it's definitely something I want to have in my stable. It was a LPB strat that got me jonesing to play the guitar in the first place, so that color is kind of special to me, every time I see one it reminds me of that feeling of when I first started playing and how much energy and passion I put into it.

Very nice Cedarblues! There's something about Lake PLacid Blue Strats that I love.

Lake Placid Blue has always been my favorite custom color on a Strat.

I took this CIJ '65 re-issue "into battle" this evening......

She doesn't get nearly as much stage time as she deserves.

 Talk about nice! I definitely think the binding on the fretboard adds a nice element to the guitar. And that color is just beautiful.
You guys are making it difficult for me to wait until 2011 to go find a Strat to buy.
