Another titans of music poll....

It seems most people only like one or t'other. Which do you like or prefer? And no cop-out "both" option included!

I'm with Eddie and the boys.

I would have picked Soundgarden if they were on the poll. I picked Nirvana instead.

Yes, I chose just these two as they seem to be the most polarising of bands withing the "grunge" genre.

While my entire school was jumping on the Kurt bandwagon, I set sail on the good ship Pearl Jam.....

I jumped on the Nirvana bandwagon when I was in high-school but it was before Nevermind, I went through a indie "Sub-pop" phase, and was lucky enough to catch them in Lawrence Ks, at a club called the Outhouse (which is now a gentlemen's club), I was probably only 1 of about 50 ppl there, a couple of years later Nevermind came out and they were everywhere, at that point I kinda shied away from them and became a bigger Pearl Jam fan. I jumped back on that Nirvana bandwagon a few years ago when As the Lights Go Out box set was released, i have been stuck on them ever since...Nirvana is one of my biggest musical influences, (next to jimi)

i like nirvana's live recordings and demos (such as the cd silver) better than their real releases. but both versions are good. i voted nirvana because i haven't really listened to pearl jam yet but i will soon.

Reminds me of the Beatles/ Stones arguments when I was a kid.

Me? I vote for Pearl Jam. Eddie was the better songwriter. Kurt was a manic depressive heroin addict who whined about not wanting to be a rock star. Not someone I'd put on a pedestal.

Oh yeah....SEATTLE FRIGGIN ROCKS!

The true masters of the Seattle scene before 91' were Mudhoney. I would have voted for them had they been on the list. They still rule all these years later.

I prefer Nirvana. In all honestly I really don't like pearl jam.

But I am young so my opinion may not matter to you (I was being conceived when Never mind came out lol)

sooo i finallt got a chance to listen to pj and i still like nirvana (even though it is now kinda cliche i guess). pearl jam just didn't feel like grunge. i don't know why it just seemed a little tame and it wasn't really hard at all. but i'll prolly give em a 2nd chance anyway.

Of course your opinion matters. You've heard the music, so you've got a right to an opinion. Age doesn't matter at all. I have plenty of opinions of performers from before my time.
