Bro, how is it possible that these are your favorite bands, your moniker is a Nirvana song, and you don't list Nirvana as a favorite band? It's like going out of your way to be trendy and not like Nirvana. Not possible to like Pixies and Melvins better than Nirvana. Yes, I know the history. Kurt started as a fanboy/rodie of Melvins and tried to sound like or "ripped off" Pixies. Whatever. Nirvana put out dozens of great, memorable songs. Whether you like nasty punk or poppier Lennonlike stuff like "About a Girl," it's all there. What's Melvins got? Serious question--not trying to be a jerk. FYI, yes, I have the albusm. I listen to Pixies. I checked them out because of Cobain's plug. They're alright. They're cool. Not better than Nirvana though.

I found ALL of those bands BECAUSE of Nirvana, however I like all of them more. Nirvana is still very special to me because I found 90% of the music I listen to now through them, and it changed my life. Duane Denison is most certainly a more talented musician than anyone in Nirvana could ever hope to be. Albini is a far greater master of noise than Kurt could ever dream of becoming. Melvins are 100000000000 times heavier than Nirvana ever could have been. But Nirvana is still special to me, so I keep the name.

I DO like ALL of those bands better than Nirvana.

And as far as Melvins, virtually everything they've ever released (save for $@!&#) is worth a listen. Everything from Bullhead to Stoner Witch is a master piece.

Again, I like all of them better than Nirvana. It's MY opinion. Feel free to disagree with it, but don't try to state your own as fact.

please stop with all the nirvana talk. you remind me of me when i first joined this forum. and i know its you, you made 2 other accounts and clooged the board with nirvana related threads and then you closed them.
again, like floyd i DO like nirvana, but i like other bands better than them now. expand your music range.

and agreed to steve albini being a better noise musician than cobain, by far!
