Lately I been plugging right into my amp, so I been getting a lot of clean, some spank, and I been really liking the sound when it starts to break up at higher volumes
My amp only has built in reverb as well as tremelo... its a little old-school.

my amp doesn't have numbers but anyways...
Reverb: two o'clock
Volume: Varies
Bass: one o'clock
Treble: eleven o'clock
and I generally plug into the "normal" channel, but I use the "bright" channel occasionally as well.
