I knew a guy who got an "M" tattooed on each buttock. When he bent over it spelled MoM. If he kicked his legs up in the air, it spelled WoW!!! YMMV Just an idea. 8)

The only suggestion that I have is that once you found the tattoo that you want and you know for sure that it's the one you want.......wait one month until you get it. If you still want it after the wait, it was meant to be.

+1 to that! I know too many people that have "grown out" of their tattoo(s) and it is much more expensive to have it removed than applied. I am not trying to talk you out of getting one. I am 52 years old and I have been thinking about it for over 10 years. Just too old and chicken to pull the trigger, I guess.

Good luck in whatever you decide on.

^+2 and I would suggest to find something that YOU like and will still like for many more years to come... so that you won't get bored of it/regret doing it!

I've been looking for the right tat for over 5 years now. Just haven't found anything that I would want on me for the rest of my life. My wife has 3 and they all have something to do with her faith which is very cool for her. I've come close a couple of times, but that waiting period I was talking about is really a lifesaver or else I would have a SwanSong symbol or a Celtic tree symbol with my kids' names winding through it on me by now. Although both are decent tats, the SwanSong just wasn't right for me and the Celtic tree tat wasn't done well by the tat artist when he drew it out and I said screw it after thinking about it for a while.

I have 2 tattoos on my right forearm the Chinese characters for father and child and on my right forearm the date of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel-July 1 1916 with a Celtic Cross and the words Lest We Forget in under it.If you were or are in the military how about getting a tattoo of a poppy.
