Why is there no info in the Fender web site about the new 08 American Standards? Today is the official release at the NAMM show.

(Note from ForumAdmin: For future reference, stuff generally goes live the morning of the official opening of NAMM (that'd be today) ... The American Standard site launch was held until the press conference announcing same completed. (Footage of said press conference to be posted shortly over on our new blog, Fender Front Row™.)

NAMM PRs trickle out notoriously slowly across the weekend. Patience. BTW, there's a buzz building about these axes--what's so good about em?

The new American Standard Stratocaster and Telecaster incorporate "...a redesigned bridge, new bent-steel saddles with elongated string slots, a new neck and body finish, and a Fender-exclusive high-tech molded case."

There are releases from the Namm Show over the next few days. The websites will probably not be changed until sometime after the show is over.
If I'm not mistaken after last years show it took about a week.

That is interesting. You would think that Fender would have their new stuff front and center for all to see.

Look at it this way. They do not want info out before NAMM, During NAMM they are all busy with NAMM, SO after NAMM is when everyone is free to get busy with website changes.

FWIW, though I may not be a fan of all the features of the new American P bass, that new HMV bridge for the basses looks like the best thing Fender has come out with in YEARS. You cats need to make that available as a replacement part for us Single Coil P bass guys. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those basses just to try out the bridge. Whoever thought that bridge up as a stock part needs a big freakin' raise, and a thank you! From what I've seen and read, it looks like you get the added mass akin to the BAIII, the better string hold of the vintage style threaded saddle, and the looks of the chrome 70's barrel saddle. Just awesome. Nice work, guys.

Nice (cough) nitrocellulose paint thinning job on the Strats. Lets the wood breathe. Sure wish I was at NAMM to uh...experience the (cough) wood breathing in person. 8)

Probably a Dan Armstrong clear acrylic. They use those things for container ship anchors.
