so i just recently started playing bass in a band and i currently dont have the money for a bass amp so am using a 1980s 500watt PA with a 15'', a 10'' and a woofer in each cab i believe. anyway i usually just use one cab for practice and run the bass through a multi effects pedal to give it less of a stale tone.

anyway we have a show coming up and i wanted to know:

should i be doing this?
is this bad for the speakers?
will it sound bad on stage?
should i use both cabs?
what are the downfalls?

No problem with the amp. But I'd sure feel more comfortable using a dedicated bass guitar cab.

well so would i but i dont currently have a job so i dont have much money to throw around. and if i were to buy a bass amp i would need something show worthy which is like 300 and up
