Went out of business today I believe... It is completely empty in there... I went to this store for everything I needed. From repairs to guitars... I got my first Electric and my first Classical Guitar from this store. I was very much a regular... Now I can go to the other local shop we have nearby, but the man who runs it is very arrogant... Has this happened to anybody else?

Unfortunately that's become de rigueur of late as the "big box" stores move into an area deploying scorched-earth policies to eliminate all opposition......

It sucks that the good indy shop went under, but the indy shop with the arrogant owner survived.

The store I bought my Mustang from died a slow death, and I stopped going there when they revamped it, and let go their best salesman--who was great to deal with, and kept the guy I didn't like.

They changed their approach and shortly after went out of business.

Years later they returned with a different name, but it's a store I don't like too much--I didn't know it was the same owners when it opened, and I decided I didn't like the store, but it explained a lot.

Even though it's only 2 blocks away from a store I do go to, I skip that one.

Absolutely because the guy at the other store I must go to cannot be dealt with at all. He is one of those "know it alls"... I cannot stand a non humble guitarist... He "thinks" he is the best. Totally not true in my book... *sigh*

Aw man that is the tricky part because one would generally want a humble guitar store like the one by me that went under. As for the customer training I can understand where you are coming from because the other guy who I find arrogant is exactly that... If I go in there it will be a one- two trip; in and out.
Hi- goodbye.

You're welcome.

Just a Photoshop "quickie".

That's a bummer. Recently a local guitar shop I liked went out of business. I bought a guitar from them once and the only reason I didn't drop by more often was because it was a fairly long drive away. I didn't like it as much as the store I work at though, the one I work at has been my favorite for years.

What I really would like to do to make some cash is teach lessons. That would be very cool. I just can't find another local guitar shop near by that would hire. The other one I was talking about has that arrogant guy... *sigh*

I dont exactly have a local music store. There is one on the east side of town but its in kind of a shady area and I dont feel safe. However my local guitar center has been nothing but good to me. I know other people have had issues with them but I go in at least twice a week and I know everybody in there and its always a good visit. Once I get past the 12 year old kids cranking up distortion and just hitting the strings then I am fine.
