The government of Nfld. and Lab. has been the first to initiate the purple ribbon to fight the abuse of woman.It will go on for 16 days and the last day will be on the anniversary of the murders and shootings of several woman students at L'Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal Que.Everybody especially men are encouraged to wear a purple ribbon to show their support.The hope is that this campaign will spread and will help bring an end to these outrageous acts.Any male that would abuse a woman either Physically, sexually,verbally or psychologically has no right to refer to himself a man - real men don't abuse women.
