this really made me laugh today. and I really needed it after my 17 mile 4+hour drive home yesterday and my 2 hour drive in to work this morning. 99% of drivers in Seattle have no idea how to drive in snow. that and they didn't plow or de-ice the roads at all. I saw this craigslist add and had to share it before the boss wonders what I'm laughing at. Now please don't thing I'm mocking whoever posted the ad, but judge for yourself...

glad you made it, I don't look forward to traffic with snow either.
the ad is, depending on what you expect, humorous, without detail though a Bro of mine just hired a bass guitar player off of craigslist.

This always makes me laugh. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada where it seems like it is winter for 6 months a year. I saw some "Breaking News" from Washington about the weather. Schools were shutting down left and right, people stuck and tons of accidents. To me it looked like any other day in Saskatchewan. I mean no disrespect, but I always get a chuckle when I see cities basically close due to the snow. We have to have a MAJOR BLIZZARD to shut anything down here and still people bomb their cars and trucks through the snow to get to work or go shopping.

We close our schools and spray chemicals all over our roads at the mere threat of a light frost. It iced over a couple of years ago for a few hours and there were over 500 ice related car accidents in the Houston area that day.

That is terrible. Around here we usually salt first. Then they might use sand. I don't like the sand part I think it doesn't help...

Screw the salt, screw the sand, screw the snow!

When we get accumulations of the white stuff down here, I put the transfer-case into "4W-LOW" and keep on truckin'......

I'm in the high desert, almost a mile up......4980 ft MSL to be exact.

We'll get snow maybe ten days during each winter, usually at night. It's generally gone by 1100 hrs the next morning though.

Here in my part of PA. when we get snow it can be a problem as we are'nt equiped to handle it like our brothers to the north. We live in the country with a lot of open farm fields so drifting snow can be a problem. I honestly believe some of the radio and tv stations go on air and tell every panic stricken doofus to go out on the roads and cause accidents.
