The 7.25 radius always put me off. Just me though. They are great guitars............Mike

I played on an ASAT Special (tribute) and it was pretty great. I was thinking about buying it but I ended up using the money to get a decent amp instead.

I think the pickups on a special were probably a little warmer then what would be on a Classic, but I'm not sure. I've heard nothing but great stuff about any G&L though. After all, it was a company Leo started. :)

I have a G&L Legacy and my step son has a Legacy tribute and in all honesty you can't really tell the difference. I've played a few ASAT tributes at the dealer by my house and if my wife hadn't gotten me a tele for our wedding present I'd had gotten one. Super cool guitars. I highly recommend.

I am waffling.....I may just stick with a Nashville Telecaster or Standard Telecaster rather than the Indonesian made G & L. I have time however as I will not be ready for purchase until after the holidays...still need to play a G & L too. I have though played the Telecasters and I am quite fond of the Nashville....

Please, please, one player to another, don't buy the tele til you give the asat a fair run. Real smooth and Leo put some real thought into the design. I know the wood and construction is indo, but I think the parts are usa. I put custom shop 54' nocaster pickups in my tele and love it to death but love the options u can get on the asat. What kind of an amp are you playing through? Just curious.

Hmmm, you have piqued my interest goose63. I am playing through a modded Blues Jr. I may have to give the G & L a better chance....

Today around 1:00pm - Played a G & L ASAT Bluesboy and an ASAT Classic through a blues deluxe. The Classic pickups were brighter but I did like the creamy sound of the humbucker on the Bluesboy and the Bluesboy did have some twang in the bridge. They both were heavy guitars and the neck was much thicker than my Tele TC90 but it also felt very "fast" to me.....I think that I am leaning toward the Bluesboy. I need to noodle the notion of buying a G & L, play some Tele's agin and then demo with my amp.

The saga continues...............

Feel free to chime in at any time my Fender compadres.............
