could it be worth the 500 hes asking? if its MIJ how old is this guitar possibly?

its sunburst with "FENDER" in gold on the headstock as well.

Back in '96, 'bought an MIJ Jazzmaster reissue, like near $600 out the door in molded case.

Still have it. Replaced pups with AVRI, excellent guitar.

Any idea when it was made? $500 might be okay if it's cherry and set up and hot-sounding.

hum....... nope no idea when it was made. that was one of my questions above. where are the RI's made now?

If it is in good shape I would say it is definitely worth $500, and that would be a killer deal on one. My buddy has one and I really like it, probably need to replace the pups although some of them did get lucky and have good stock pups. I say go for it, the necks on those MIJ reissues are really nice too.
