I have read about a new paint supplier/new paint. I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that I ordered a Thurston Moore Jazzmaster and now I might be receiving a guitar that is not painted with the original color that Thurston/fender chose. I don't want to come across as whiny or anything but if I spend over a grand on a signature guitar (and wait three months to receive it) I would expect to receive the guitar I purchased. I have no clue how to find any more info. about fender's paint/paint supplier or whether or not the color of the TM Jmaster will be "genuine" tm green.

Thanks for allowing me an outlet to vent. And please let me know if anyone has any information on this matter.

That is the exact guitar I have been waiting for since April. Still don't have it. If it ever shows up I will let you know how the colour is.

I expect it will be delivered in 2525 or somewhere around them. I plan to have my body cryogenically frozen so that the scientists of tomrrow can revice me so that I can be around to receive Fender's next slipped delivery date.

Haha classic.

Or if you prefer, we could meet up cut down a few trees and start our own guitar company. Perhaps by the time we're moving thousands of guitars thurston will have decided to ditch fender jazzmasters and upgrade to ours'. Then we could offer him a signature model. And we'll take the first two off the line.

Definitely let me know when yours arrives and I'll do the same. I heard something like the first/second week of January but I'm not counting on it.

I actually phoned for a new ETA today. My music store asked me to call back this afternoon. If the answer is anything but it will be here tomorrow I'm cancelling this order. Telling my it will be here every two months for the last 9 months is not a good business strategy. The last time I called fender said it would be shipping in a week -- that was Nov 7.

Its hard to put into words the very low opinion I have of Fender at the moment.

As an amusing side-note, they day I ordred my guitar a friend of mine at work found out his wife was going to have a baby. The baby came a few weeks back. They managed to make a human in less time than it takes for Fender to get me a bolt-on neck guitar.

Haha face palm.

Ya I feel for ya man. I haven't been waiting as long but I'm already tired of the nonsensical answers I keep getting. I pretty sure Fender could actually care less. As long as guitar center is still buying I'm sure they're happy. Honestly, I would probably cancel my order if I could but my store has a non-cancel policy on special orders. I'm pretty sure guitar center's website said they would be shipping on 12/30/10....my guess is they have top priority over smaller stores regardless of when the guitar was ordered...buuuut thats just my guess.

That is what I think is happening to me as well. My guitar keeps getting bumped to fill guitar centre/musicians friend etc. orders. The problem is that model could go on forever.

12/30/10 sounds like a placeholder date though -- to make the suckers think it will arrive this year. Musicians friend has the same date.

Ya I agree - it does sound like a placeholder. My local shop said that it would ship the beginning of January last time I dropped in (about a month ago). Well, I went in to pay my last payment last week and completely forgot to ask about the due date until I was walking out the door. "oh, ya, when do you think it will be in?"...."now Fender is saying mid-February".

So I guess I'm stuck in that one month, groundhog day limbo I've been reading about. lol I usually exert my patience when saving up for a guitar which is tough enough. It's twenty times worse to have paid for a guitar then have to wait months to get it. And I feel lame complaining now since you've had to wait 9 months and I've only been waiting about 2.5 months.

Fender latest info is mid Febrary for my guitar. They also said that this was estimated and they coudn't guarantee it.

I have cancelled the order. Its been a fun 9 months but I'm out. I really don't believe anything Fender says anymore.

Oh maaaannn. I'm sorry to hear that DerGeist. That was the estimate I received last week as well. I'm going to stick it out. buuut I haven't been waiting 9 months. So what are you planning to do? Are you going to order another jmaster or wait for a thurston model to pop up somewhere? or...
