I love loads of guitarists, everyone from Albert Lee to Eric Clapton to John 5 to Keith Richards to Jim Root to Graham Coxon.
However I would say John 5 is probably my favourite guitarist as it is awe inspiring how many styles of music he can play and very well. His technique in those genre's is also amazing.
I would say the most iconic guitarist is Keith Richards. The way he performs and his persona is just pure rock 'n' roll and so cool.
Who is your fav guitarist and favourite guitar icon?

David Gilmour but I like many many others. Walter trout is really good. saw him play this summer at blues festival and he was really good, the blues festival here has had lots of great players. my father has seen Joe Bonamassa play here 3 years ago. feels like stealing every year.

My current favorite is Joe Bonamassa. Most iconic IMO is probably B.B King.

I got turned on to this player, When I heard Frank Zappa (my choice for Icon) Refer to him in an interview as one of the most original guitar players he heard of at the time. FZ was right and this players heyday eas the early to mid 70's, and nobody was badder or funkier or had soul like him, well maybe Miles Davis, and James Brown, But J.G.W. was right up there with them. John Lennon and George Harrison got the guitar thing going with me however it was Jimi Hendrix who turned guitar into a full fledged obsession. Of course I had other significant influences too like Pete Townshend and in particular Chris Britton of The Troggs whose chugging rhythm playing is an obvious influence in my rhythm playing to this day. And then there's Buddy Guy, Albert King,John Lee Hooker and Lightnin' Hopkins.I've left out a good few as I took a little something from many guitarists to hone it all into my own style.
