Together

If I could fly, I would
I wouldn't fly away
I couldn't see my friends
If my friends could fly
I would fly with them
around somewhere and then
together here again

Foster Brooks. Always a hoot. Thanks, John and Rollie.

I laughed and cried and almost died
(original, huh?)
I didn't though, I know not when
'Cause I'm still here to laugh again.

Would never have known that was Foster Brooks in vid you posted Rollie, must have sat and watched a couple of hours worth of those Dean Martin ( the Puerto Rican gentleman) roasts with Foster Brooks, him and the Jonathan Winters vids crack me up.
It's good to keep yer chuckle muscles moving
otherwise they start a sagging and a droopin
turn you one day into grumpy curmudgeon
watching agony aunts and hourly news crews
prattling on about this and that nothing new
could be solved, all or most, with a well aimed
leather soled brogue or other size 9's to 11's
man made uppers and sole, slipper or stilettos
skid mark on Dubbya's Y's shaped like a canoe
when someone else also though, "f" it throw shoe
that made me chuckle I can tell you yeah haha
the world would be better with a well aimed "f" it shoe

Ha ha, the guy in the hat, I don't know who he is, reminded me of Foster Brooks though John.

John, always brings a smile
to me I know, all the while
day after day, mile after mile
thought of John, my friend
so if the story is about a curmudgeon who's grumpy
frumpy or dumpy or lumpy or stumpy
jumpy or bumpy or clumpy or slumpy
as long as the story comes with John
and perhaps a spot of tea
a sure bet then tis for me

Oh No

Oh what the f_ck
overhead flying by, 3 ducks
here on the ground, tough luck
my own creation, for a buck
miscommunication unbalanced, reflex up
what you say you can not, re-tuck
sometimes I feel dense as a, hockey-puck
that can hurt so, I suck......only once in a great while because the memory is going/old age. I know you're thinking "what was your excuse before?" don't be such a smart assa . (kidding?))) :D

My memory, my mind
At times it's great
Sometimes unkind.
When it works it rings a bell
At other times it doesn't tell
Me what I want to know
Frustration, sensation, and concentration
It blows my mind
To seek the answers I wish to find.
Meditate and sleep to dream
About the things I seek to learn
Or understand before I'm dead
To find the truth inside my head.

Grandpa's going deaf
And grandma's going blind
So they work it out together
As if with a single mind.

First every child was left behind
Then we raced to the bottom
Just to find the common corpse.

[Edited for clarity.]

Of corpse we write of many things
Some with horns and some.with wings
To fly up to the Pearly Gates
Where Saint Pete will meet and check one out
He'll call your name or maybe shout
In time we'll see what it's about
And maybe luck will see us in
No one really knows for sure
Because it's all left up to him.

+ a lot! The Forums wouldn't be the same without them, Rollie, or without all of your other contributions. Your positive attitude does a lot for the spirit of the Forums.

My feelings about you Ralph and FSB on this Forum too. I would be here more as I was in past years but do come as often as I can because of you. Many thanks to Brad for starting this Forum, I have made excellent friends here that I might not have without Brad's help.

If I had another, you'd get 3 thumbs up, Brad. You get the 2 I have though. Thanks, for your participation in making it possible for us here to socialize and educate ourselves in such a great Forum. (Well put, Rollie) :D
Cheers,
FSB

It's not the friends you leave behind or friends you start anew
It's simply all the friends you have are there because of you.
