OATMEAL COOKIES WITH ICING
Mmmmm
Cookie Time
Dip in the milk drip sugar time
Yeah I want that mush
In my hand as cookie gush
Gimme

NO MO' COOKIES
Cookie rubble strewn with milk on my cup

Good one Highline and they go together perfectly.

Good thought John, thankyou. I thought that an editor might help lol, then a publisher might get interested in something. For now, just writing now and then is what I enjoy. I had hoped originally to attract some of the heavy hitters on this Forum to post on this thread. Precious few have and I love reading everyone's posts.

Autumn's almost over, winter approaches, fast
time and ends are meeting this year's almost past

you are keeping your love
just out of my reach
and I try and I try
just you fight with me

call me in
it seemed like you back then
you were teasing me
cold karma breakin in

I can't erase my sins
just want to set them free
with my arms wide open
what you said to be

now you say you don't know
that thing you want from me
bound by angry chains
your promises and I agreed

in a different time
mistaken inclinations
surrounded past relations
todays perfect rules and regulations

love can unlock the way
holding love be for real
then I'll show you the way
*

*a last line has me puzzled

Things may come and things may go
some things are important some of them not so
count your blessings, hope you have lots of those
to help you determine if things you chose
are those you would save, preserve or things that you would let go

Thanks spacewolf. This one I posted on the "what are you doing?" thread.

turkeydelic:

turkey high sleepy eye
its all of that tryptofan brother
to mimic the sleep enzyme
and pumkin pie
and reading posts
and worrying about what everyone does
and wondering why
for a little while
with a sleepy smile
what are you doing?

Home sweet home
Is such a blatant lie
Home is where the hurt is
Seems more truthful in my eye

During the day I get a respite
Going to school and trying to make no mistakes
Seeming happy with my friends is what I'll fake
While inside my heart slowly breaks

My heart falling, falling
Into pieces to numerous to count
I am like a caged animal
Just looking to get out

Then one day the yelling stops
My mother no longer bruised
My father still yelling
In a police car as it cruised

I don't see much of the man
Who claimed to be my father
I guess I wasn't good enough
To a man who didn't want a daughter

But I guess that era has made me stronger
Terrible times make great people they say
One thing's for sure though
I'll show that bastard what a good parent is one day

Sit back, enjoy life for a while
instead of letting life enjoy you
smell scents so spring
take time to tell tales to sweet survivors
Do what you want if you know it's right
living the life you want
one day at a time
choice by choice
casually

Nice one o2, that made me think of this:

for a dead man rests a casket
holding eggs from easter baskets
movement stirs thoughts of love
from above the casket surface
sprung from the tapping shoes
worn by dancing spanish maids
playing wooden castinets
the muffled beats fluttering
like the hearts of butterflies
mating in spring

Well Rollie, I hope you don't mind if I play along with some things I wrote a long time ago. Just to get started, here's a very light hearted one dated 12/75!

Ode To Hollyweird

Grotesque and Absurd
Lived out in the woods
Forever wishing if only they could
Some how find out what life was really all about!

So they rolled out of the hills
In search of new thrills
Moved to Hollywood
And became gods.

They found life was devine
On platforms and wine
But rhinestones needed constant repair

So they left for the sun
Set the controls and were gone
Back in Hollywood
Their names live on forever.

Here's another moldy one. These are actually lyrics for a song I never recorded and I don't remember how to play.

The Way I See Who Is Me

Living in another world
Feeling very fine
Some people just don't think
I'm of my own mind
But what they don't know
And why should I care
Is that their heads all glow
And there's star's in their hair

The world goes round, I'm drifting in sound
And sometimes I see, just who is me

Looking at the world
Through strawberry eyes
Often times has the effect
Of being a disguise
Some words have echo effect
Others have none
Still others seem to direct
Me to the sun

I get up this way, drift through the day
Play the part of the fool, and forget all the rules

So if you're floating thoughts
I'll try to receive
Maybe we'll come across
A new way to perceive
White light, inner mind
A feeling so free
That's what my soul is
That's who is me

The world goes round, I'm buried in sound
Maybe my next time, I'll manufacture rhyme.
