A rhyme for the new year
twenty thirteen, it's here
what to write about has yet to be seen
lately my wordsmithing has been rather lean
so, I'll wish that this year will be one of the best
for Fender Forum Brothers and Sisters
their families and loved ones
all around the world, east to west
good health good wishes a warm cozy nest
and then to play this years music with vigor and zest

What an excellent poem and sentiment! Thank you, SBLS, and I would like to echo it and wish you and everyone else the best for the coming year. :D

Aldebaran Rising

I see Aldebaran rising in the night
Beaming down its evil light
I draw my chamber curtain to block out the pain
Because night after night it's driving me insane

I close my eyes but there is no escape
As I drift off into the dark it begins to take shape
Its red eye pierces my soul and spins me 'round
If I fall asleep now I may never be found

It leads me to an ancient city with no name
On a world whose daytime sky is a hellish red flame
And at night the stars here look all wrong
I know soon Aldebaran's call will become too strong

But then slowly I begin to see that I must belong here
Until beneath that dying red sun I have lost all fear
Trapped forever in the dream I'm no longer who I've been
I approach the city gates and forever pass within.

very cool spacewolf, thankyou, here is my try at Aldebaran:

A Taurean poem
this constellations tome
aldebaran is described as following
the Pleiades seven sisters
they're 150 light years far
our bullseye though is much closer to home

shining and orange similar to mars
the orange orb of earths solar system
that is up there with the stars
aldebaran's a giant in space, 14 is it's bright place
too large to cover so big we exult
but our shy little moon blocks it's vision by occult

regularly seen, just as regularly not
aldebaran the Taurus eye burns like our sun
only not nearly as hot
luminosity consistent a strong wind shrinks it's mass
a few million years from now the time will come
and aldebaran becomes an old giant K of gas

well, wouldn't you know
some news today
that I heard a woman say
about poetry, about communication
that poetry is a unique way
to communicate today and any day
"it takes some thought to arrange the words in a poetic way"
that's what I think I heard her say.
makes sense I thought
I gathered from what she said
poetry is different than prose
that old straight forward way
to comminicate the information
that is needed and wanted
from the hip, off the cuff
straight from the shoulder
using your head, in an organized manner
and more different too from another form
of concentrated communicative chatter
the old favorite form
which takes two to matter
you know what it is
a tease, a delight
a rib, to lightly flatter
with some humor, a giggle, a laugh
friendly banter.
there are forms outlines some others and
all together or separate
from one another
the unique way with thoughtful word play
is what I heard the woman say
about a poem
a poetic way to communicate today and any day.

today a picture of love appeared
a photograph that shows affection
an admiration of Fender gear
and a kindness displaying common interests
"Use a picture. It's worth a thousand words"
said newspaper editor Arthur Brisbane long ago.
here is the picture
a Fender T-shirt with a Custom Shop Logo
standing in the midst of a beautiful winter scene
bright blue sky above the snow covered ground
mountains in the distance bare trees and bushes all around
has inspired some words of which
thankyou is one and love is two

Cheers :D

I tried to write this again, then remembered I'd wrote it here, lol
Solid Body Love Songs wrote:
awoke this morning counting,
blessings that have been mounting,
in my heart though not in order,
so, organize thought, I oughta.
then, other peoples voices,
not counting blessings,
counting other choices,
things they wouldn't or that didn't,
or, couldn't or that isn't.
not blessings or thoughts
that they did want to have,
better thoughts to think about
and to count as theirs,
a hug or kiss.
an expression of love.
the world's sun and moon,
shine from above,
turning around,
not turning down,
helps you keep steady
on the shaky ground,
of life's changing reality,
lets you change the sound,
vibrations if you will
in syncopation going round.
the critics voices seemed to mount,
self importance, critical mass now, on their count.
I know better's and me not you's,
to start the complaint departments views.
then I stopped to think about my count,
the blessings in a messy mount,
I had forgot to put in order,
so
I'd better get back to work
burnin daylight here 8)

R.I.P David Byron (29 January 1947 – 28 February 1985, born as David Garrick).
I've been thinking about this. A mystery to me.

response repeat for the "Don't Give It Away!" thread:

Fenderseeker09, magician, a wonderful spell from your keyboard.

He said "this copyright protection is important"
"people can use your work without you knowing"
I said "Talent is a gift that keeps on giving, it evolves"

He then said " I wrote this great song last week"
"I think it could sell some, I'm not going to post it and have another person use it"
I said "that was last weeks song, talent unfolds, that forward push allows you to feel what lies ahead"

He said "last weeks song, what about this week?"
"and next week, these songs may be worth something"
I tried not to smile, he is such a good Bro, and said "don't worry you won't run out of material"

The snow, longed for by my daughter in all it's icy glory
At higher elevations, out of reach except for Christmas stories
My own want can only compare when contemplating from afar
The magnificence of a Fender Custom Shop guitar.
