Thank you, SBLS, I'm very glad you like it. :D I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing, since this thread is almost exclusively love poetry, but I decided to take a chance anyway. I appreciate your tolerating such a diversion.

"It's A 2012 Kind Of Christmas"

All the night, so long and dreary.
I'm growing old and feeling weary.
My rain deer slowing in the fog.
My slay stuck fast in the bog.
But Rudolph's nose still glowing red.
His eyes still sparkling in his head.
Heel lead the way, heel shurly pull old Santa's slay.
For all the kids on Christmas day.
And bring them all a gift, maybe two.
There's one for you and you and you.
And maybe, when the night's all done.
I'll settle in and have some fun. and sip a cup of Christmas cheer.
And say thanks to my fine rain deer.
Then, in my favored chair, for a winter's nap
With Mrs. Santa on my lap.
Mary Christmas To All.
----Danny,

Hey how’s your heart
in need of a jump start
I got the leads and a battery
and a tongue full of flattery
and a photo of a beach
I bum about on a Saturday
a job that pay’s well that
helps fend off calamity
keeps a roof over my family
and allows us to dine well
whenever we hear tell
of a short ride away hotel
doing a 2 for 1 meal deal
so c’mon roll up roll up
don't sit around feeling moody
get your heart all zapped up
just hold this ...and this
while I see to the battery
and we'll all hang about
on that beach on Saturday

Thankyou John
for the wonderful smile
had me thinking
things are ok for awhile
a welcome take five
from the fuss and stress
of work-a-day life
called a respite I guess
from where labor is rife
but a check comes as payment
that I like I must confess
almost as much as a
poem from John
a Fender Forum loved one
who's words encouraged calm
and now that I'm home
I'm putting my Fender t-shirt on
time to relax and write
for my Brother John :D

cloudy or sunny
cold and white

must go out
to enjoy the snow

cheers :D

Beautiful photo Petra, thankyou for posting. The Fender Stratocaster is the coolest solid body electric guitar ever! 8) We don't have snow yet in Chicago but after reading your poem I must say I am looking forward to a little fun in the snow too :D

"The Final Countdown"
A few days left with my guitar, untill the final hour.
Then everything will come undone, our world will cease to be, and we must start anew.
Will it really come to pass. Is it really true.
If it is, this time lets try to do it right, not to war and fight, but to live together as one people on this Planet, with all working for the common good. Then maybe we can understand the true meaning of the words, Brother, Sister, Mother, Father, Son and Daughter. And maybe with help from the all mighty ones, who ever they may be. Old Mother Earth can continue on as intended, in "THE BEGINNING".

That a 60s tribute? Because one of those has been sitting my local store for like $600 for the past 2 years. I could probably talk them down. Is it worth it?

Christmas, add 1 line or 15, variations of lines, stay close to "The Night Before Christmas" poem but different or not so different if it fits, you know. here's my version of a start:

t'was some nights before Christmas
round the Forum, Fenders Lounge
not a byte of info was traveling
not a light blinking
not even a mouse clicking
anywhere in this guitar house

gig bags hanging
by the loading doors there
spirits of Leo and George
watch us with love and care
The IT team were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of terabyte servers danced in their heads

with the Stratocaster in its hard-case
and the Telecaster on its stand
Fender offices lights switched to dimmer
computers moved to hibernate for
an overdue rest on this winters night

When what to my wondering eyes should appear?
The ghost of Jimi Hendrix with a Stratocaster near
He plugged it into an amp and blasted away
Playing Purple Haze for me on Christmas Day
