more than a mystery now
how to progress
similar to a purple cow
I reluctantly confess
to go or to stop
stuck at the canyon bottom
marooned on the mountains top
either way no help around
feeling like an unwanted prop

like when driving in town
if one's seat belt isn't on
one'll be arrested by a cop
were we thinking of what should be best
when we elected those new guests
because so convincingly they professed
a bigger governing body
hoping and changing for society
is most assuredly the best

now that we've discovered
all progress is blocked
and the speak that they've spoken
was just a big crock
of stuff no one wanted
not even their lot
went to the store for some help
clerk said we're out of that stock
a new regulation say's help sales should stop

where is sherlock
when you need him the most
help is sorely needed
even from his ghost
if that were possible
and he or his ghost
could solve this mystery
I'd drink him a toast
or two or three

for what i can recall
the nameless objective
doesnt leave
doesnt see
its mind is open to me
crawling up its back
til it reaches the foundation
and hijacks its goals

Just posted a link for this thread in a message to a friend on FB and a very weird photo of some thing was attached to this link. Brad, could you change that photo please? It is very strange.

another repeat, must be hoping still

a rhyme a day
keeps the wolves at bay
big bad wolves
with their huff'n puff'n ways
dangerously sharp toothy grins
and those steel-like claws
that can tear through
any defense or charade
well, just for today anyhow
scared them away
lucky, just got lucky
for a day with a rhyme
a little rhyme to save a day
now comes tomorrow
to not become the beasts fillet
hoping some one can rhyme
and save another day

(SUPER BOWL 2012)
Today's the day
That fateful day
They play that Football game
I think it's called the Super Bowl
A battle fit for kings
The Giants and Patriots
Are the Armies in the field.
they'll fight for fame and glory
And the right to claim the day
And to say they won the super bowl
And wear that golden ring
they'll hold there heads up high
And boast untill next year
When two more armies, will stand there toe to toe
And fight the battle once again
And put on one hell of a show.
Wow it's getting close to kick off time
I've got to go.

today, I just tried to write
I thought and thought
to place the words just right
but the effort ended for naught
and now time has changed day into night

let the writing thought go
is what it's all about
and what I want to know
is if it matters not, without a doubt
that today went away with no rhyme to show

well if that is all true
just have to wait til tomorrow
to write words, if only a few
in happiness not in sorrow
that today now is old but tomorrow will be new

the cadence is off there obviously, had a tough today for organizing anything, try to fix it later, lol

edit:

"from another thread, thanks for the talk DD."

busker's tra-la

the fine young man, with a guitar
sat there on the steps at Trafalgar
with his tip jar near, he was playing a song
about his old lady, in days long gone
similar to one, an older lady watching him
wanted the angels to hear
for her thoughts of a boy she knew so dear
this young man's song was faster in time, more urgent
his tempo all rock and roll, made for any young gent
the old lady asked for a sweeter happier song, this time
a song a little slower is what she had in mind
to go back in time for her memory, a waltz
so in her mind this old lady could feel
that young boy of her girlhood, both now lost
with this added description, Viennese schmaltz
so play the song the young man did
as if from a distance, somewhere far
listening for the ring of pennies, dropped into his jar
the old lady watched him play, her face so bright
as if she was looking at an extraordinary light
might have been the memory she longed for
is within her mind's sight
with her request granted
now she must leave the scene
listening to that beautiful music
was for her like a dream
she drops some pennies into his jar
spilling onto the steps
falling they are
making a wonderful ringing noise
for that young man playing his guitar.

just exercising

Sunday

Another Sunday morning
oh yes, that day of rest
the old written rule
one of 10, almighty test

but "rest not weary wicked"
say apostates, called the best
sake to go for money, to do for fame
then pretend, those things are not useless

false pride, a boast, it's alright
deny that old rule, because, look at whats done
deceivers call out "it feels good
and it's wanted, it's just for fun"

all while deep down knowing
that's not as good as it gets
the old rule, a time for remembering
it's that one day to rest

is it true, at all, believing?
well, when following leaders that regress
their lies keep minds off balance
doubts, not faiths, cause much unrest

consequence comes with truth
deluders turn away, acting dumb
listen, their plan, purposely forgetful
results, bad everything, anything but, comfortably numb

misery loves company, doubters miserable surprise
lying to distract, the hopeful's watching eyes
diversions to avert, then to steal all hope
so, back to the beginning to spell-out the straight dope

this about a gift from above
to forgive, most people do know
can change darkest darkness
into the brightest glow

so, as chances come and chances go
each week there is a chance for a better show
just keep one day holy, not so much to ask
for a better grade on that test, a meritorious task

Running from Lamp post to lamp post

Disco lights and glitter balls
DJ’s, beer and platform soles
wore my brothers shirt, he had the coolest of all
and memory’s of San and me my mind recall’s
and my heart heading straight into freefall
last song had played, I hadn’t seen her all night
‘till we bumped into each other heading for the door
sorry we both said, as we gazed at each other
for like a minute or more but less than a hour
Could I walk you home, you said ok
Oh by the way how far do you stay
point’s her finger say’s Hm bout 5 mile’s that way
through slight inebriation does quick calculation
look’s more like nine or ten to me, are you sure
who care’s she said and began running away
I know a game, she shouted as she splashed
in the puddles left from rain earlier that day
we can stop for a kiss at every lamp post along the way
her hair blowing free her eye’s fixed on me
the smell of her scent, she must be heaven sent
“ I love you” passed my lips more than I could say
running from lamp post to lamp post all the way
eighteen I was San was twenty one, and i knew
I just knew that all these years later I’d still
be dreaming of life forever with you

took awhile to remember this should be changed, for the better I hope:

she wears black leather
black all the way down
from her black leather beret
to black stiletto's on her feet

a passionate mission
controls my mind
just want her with me
think we're two of a kind

this sleek black widow
puts my brain at ease
kiss her face down to her tummy
hug her body, a lovers squeeze

the game of love with a little lust
together we should be
objectively I'll tell her
so she will be apt to agree

she said "we'll meet later tonight"
I'll speak in a voice clear and bright
"want us to love with all of our might"
and hope the one that she takes home, will be me

"The Gandy Shack" (Not exactly poetry just a memory of another time).
Many years ago, at a place called King St. Station, there was a room called the "Gandy Shack". It was a very dark and dreary room, filled with old black men, old forgotten furniture, and an assortment of tools hanging from the walls. The room smelled of tobacco smoke and oily cloths. If you walked past the room late in the day, you couldn't help but notice a Humming, a rhythmic chant, a song like and wonderful sound, coming from the place. It was the sound of a crew of workmen, Track Maintenance men, known as Gandy Dancers, cleaning up and changing back into there street cloths after a long days work. At the time I never gave it a second thought. But that very sound was the origin of, and beginning of a kind of music known as the blues. for a hundred and fifty years The same sound could be heard along every stretch of railroad in the country. The old men are gone now, and the little room has long since been turned into something more useful. But the memory will linger in my mind forever. I'm glad I was there to here them Sing. 8)

Yeah................ Girls
lying among the ring-pulls, the cigarrette butts and decades old debris
lie's my splattered hearts remains, caked to the kerbstone to this day
a place in my mind I drift off to somedays when her smile envelopes me
the smiling assassin girl I mistook for someone caring someone cool
well that's what happens when assassins meet stupid lovesick freakin fools
Yeah that's my tears you see running passed your patent leather boots
the knee length one's I bought you 'cause " I just gotta have them,
they look just so darn cute" you said, while giving me that "special"
you know you want me look, all the while planning my downfall on
that ring pull, cigarrette butt laden street with a smile and a spell
that would open the pearly gates and create a heavenly HELL
Don't be fooled into thinking I'm over you I remember all of your tricks,
the way you laughed, your sparkling eyes, that way you smiled your perfect lips
the way you walked towards me, the nights with my arms around you
your sweet tasting breath filling my chest, the bite marks, OMG the
bite marks you said were only in jest, yeah I remember all the tricks
you played right up to the second you ripped the heart from my chest
what freaks me out is I'd run to you anytime, infact this very second
if you lifted a finger pointed and said, c'mere you stupid lovesick freakin fool
I'm here once again to take you away on a return trip to my pretty pink hell
Purrrrr....Purrrrrrr....Purrrrrrrrrrrrrr
You gotta love em

sounds kinda scary in a nice way Triskele :)
Ah the hunt the chase
keeping up with the pace
trying not to disgrace
falling flat on your face
what to use for bait
a smiling fuzzy or shaved face
it’s on with the Hi Karate
whatever may be the case
Brush, floss, brush again
check Levi’s flies not open
the time has now come
sights set on the chosen one
animal instinct kicking in
that’s her right there
the one with all the hair
an opening line think.. think....
Hi.. hello is anyone in there
Oh hello couldn’t see your face
for all of that hair
can I buy you a pint love
lager, stout or pale ale ??
