"DANCING WOMEN'

There rocking out in Dallas
And dancing in Tennessee
There doing the Texas two-step in L.A.
In Seattle there having a square dance
But in old Birmingham
There women all dance togather
I hope that dont catch on
The duck in and out and touch eachothers cheeks
And stomp there feet on the floor
They jump up and down and turn around
Then stomp there feet some more
They shake there fingers at eachother
and then they shout out
Dont you ever look at my man
now I've figured it out
There not dancing at all
Just giveing a fair worning
for all women to mind there P's and Q's
and not get caught a standing
In some other woman's shoes
Yes that meens me and you.

Not my poetry, but one that has always inspired me...

Nature's first green is gold...
Her hardest hue to hold...

Then leaf subsides to leaf...

So dawn goes down to day...
Nothing gold can stay...

-Robert Frost

From another post:
"Tim, reading about Robert Frost one of Americas most beloved writers, and, his massive collection of poems and plays and writings. a writer that would be almost impossible to describe honorably, I will give Robert Frost some time/thought."

I found this first:
Some of Robert Frost teaching credentials: wiki:
"Frost taught English at Amherst College, Frost spent almost every summer and fall teaching at the Bread Loaf School of English of Middlebury College, Frost accepted a fellowship teaching post at the University of Michigan, Harvard's 1965 alumni directory indicates Frost received an honorary degree there. Although he never graduated from college, Frost received over 40 honorary degrees, including ones from Princeton, Oxford and Cambridge universities; and was the only person to receive two honorary degrees from Dartmouth College. During his lifetime, the Robert Frost Middle School in Fairfax, Virginia, the Robert L. Frost School in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and the main library of Amherst College were named after him."

Tim, I just couldn't imagine what to write about.
Should I start with this, wiki:
"One of the original collections of Frost materials, to which he himself contributed, is found in the Special Collections department of the Jones Library in Amherst, Massachusetts. The collection consists of approximately twelve thousand items, including original manuscript poems and letters, correspondence, and photographs, as well as audio and visual recordings. The Archives and Special Collections at Amherst College also holds a collection of his papers."

And then I thought, Robert Frost is with us every moment, his influence on millions of his readers and they on their readers, and what an example of a poet! When I read Robert Frost, and then look through other authors work written since Mr Frosts passing, it is as if I'm reading him, or maybe he did just influence so many in such a positive way. Almost like he was saving the world one poem at a time or one student/classroom at a time. I do like Robert Frost work very much Tim. Thank you for reminding me. I am going to read a Robert Frost poem now.

" BLUES MAN"

A Blues man stands on stage sweat dripping from his brow
The dew rag round his head oozing the very essence of his soul
His old shoes also wet from standing in the pool of life round his feet
Although he has not yet finished with the song he now plays
Yet another one lingers in his heart
His voice is accompanied by his guitar which is merly an extension of his soul
His ragged appearance is only a badge of distinction
The band behind him does their best to keep up the blues man smiles
Although the blues man is erupting with the very essence of his soul
He still finds humor in his companions commitment to excellence
It's like a horse race only each player knowing his place
one song follows another all night
how can a grroup of guys play so long without a single mistake
or waver.

"If MY GUITAR COULD TALK"

"If my guitar could talk"

She would probably say it in a love song
Of course she would expect me to sing along
She would probably lead me down an old dirt road
In some unfamiliar place and sing softly in my ere
About some forgotten year when she was new and I was young
And we still had lots of time
To wonder down the trails in the music of my mind
She would lead me in a song of how it might have been
If we had hit it big in stead of going from town to town
To get just one more Gig
Now her strings have begun to rattle and I'm getting old to
I set by the fire in my old chair and hold her in my arms.

My friend in Yamanashi, Japan was knocked off her bike by a car today- luckily she was not seriously injured, just pissed off and a busted up bike. So I wrote this poem for her and it brightened her day somewhat:

Tess fell off her bike...
it was not something to like.
When the man jumped out,
Tess was in a scream and shout.
She sighed then she cried,
...The man pleaded and tried...
Thank heavens all that broke was her basket,
For all we know, she could have been in a casket.
But Tess's bike and her shiney bright bell...
alas, is another story to tell
...The End :)

She loved it :)

Not really a poem just my thoughts: A hero not yet fallen, walks through a field of markers remembering the fallen dead of past wars. His beautiful wife by his side holding a bokay of fresh cut flowers.
The expression's on there faces depict the feeling in there hearts. To me they represent the exact feelings that I hold in my heart for all men and women in uniform today.

"SEASONS"
First came the gentle rains fallowed buy the sun
They kiss the flowers of the springtime day
Honey bees gently taking pollen from each one
And Carry it back to there young
The young bees thrive on there rich bounty
And one by one they emerge from the hive as full grown bees
Each new bee repeating the endless cycle of life
All to soon as if to say thats enough for now
Spring time turns into summer and the wondrous time continues
As the seasons move on summer soon turnes into fall
The flowers of spring and summer wilt and fall away
The leaves fall from the trees and soon cover the forest floor
The bees return to there hive and begin there winter sleep
Now the world is ready
Some say the most beautiful season of them all is coming
Winter is just around the corner
Some say that snow will come early this year and when it dose
The forest floor will once again be covered with its protecting cover
The coming months are long and filled with excitement
Wind and rain will soon rinse away the signs of the previous season
A new season begins, the sun comes out to heat the ground
The plants will again begin to grow and the cycle of life begins anew.

Turn poem into song add Chorus:

Sitting in the corner
Chin cupped in her hands
She was starring in a mirror
As if the world was at an end
I got up and walked on over
Asked her what’s her name
She only shrugged her shoulders
And in the mirror starred again
I thought I’d sit beside her
And with her stare awhile
Then she finally leaned on over
And with these words began to cry

Tell me will you mister
Does the good lord have a plan
Do you think that all this matters
Do you think he really cares
And do you ever stop to wonder
If our faith is in his hands
So tell me will you mister
Does the good lord have a plan

The words she spoke they quiver
So softly hard to hear
My true love he’s gone forever
And no children did I bare
So you see I’m all alone here
And often really scarred
Only one friend left to call on
But I know she’s always there
So wherever I may travel
Or how long I may be gone
Just by starring in the mirror
I can take my friend along

So tell me will you mister
Does the good lord have a plan
Do you think that all this matters
Do you think he really cares
And do you ever stop to wonder
If our faith is in his hands
So tell me will you mister
Does the good lord have a plan

Very nice poem I liked it very much.

that a wake of vibrations
refashioned to crashing aurations
plus liquid rock heavily hardened
just a dawdling roundabout
looking within smiling throughout

"YOUR EYES" 06/22/11
Your eyes see the life that lies before you
Your eyes see the sun shine That brightens your day
Your eyes see the darkness through the moonlight of night
Your eyes see the sparkle in your girls hair
Your eyes see the twinkle in your Fathers eye
your eyes see the loveliness of your mothers smile
your eyes see the world as it changes each day
your eyes see the band as they begin to play
your eyes see your image as you look in a mirror
Your eyes see the things that you hold so dear
Yore eyes are most surely a wonderful thing
And without them you wouldn't be the same
Or would you
I think you would.

"LIFE IS BUT A FLEATING MOMENT" Inspired by Tim Drake.
Life is but a fleeting moment that 's how the blues were born
You wake up some morning and every thing is gone
You look around and see that nothing is the same
your mule is sick and cant pull a plow
And now your cow's done run away
Your dog's got to fat to hunt
and your chickens wont lay
Through sickness and health
Through sunshine and rain
Life goes on from day to day
So pick up your guitar and sing a song
Sing a song of happiness and of a better day
Then sing one about your dog and how he loves to play
Sing another one about going fishing on a sunny afternoon
Before you know you'll be feeling better
The pain will begin to go away
Then you can start over tomorrow with a brand new day.

doodling on "Mary had a little lamb":

Mary and her lamb
a children's poem I'm told
and the many times
that I've heard the rhyme
it never does get old
I'll think, try to recall
just how the rhyme did go
alright I've got it
here it is
ready steady go
One day Mary brought
her lamb to school
and as her brother watched them go
they entered a cloved meadow
thus, the poems tale did unfold
the little lamb loved Mary so
and would follow
were she would go
and as they walked through the meadow
to the little school
the lamb paused to chew some clove
Mary wore a pretty white dress that day
to match the lambs fleece
white as snow
as they neared the school
they began to run
to get there quicker
don't you know
the playing children laughed out loud
to see Mary's lamb at school
because the Teacher always said
no lambs in class
class is for children
strictly by the rules
Teacher shoo'd the lamb outside
but the little lamb wouldn't go
and just stayed near the schoolhouse door
waiting for Mary to take her home
when class ended
and Mary came outside
the little lamb jumped and bleated hello
then the two of them walked
back through the meadow
for it was time now to go home
the school children asked the Teacher
"why does the lamb love Mary so"
the Teacher smiled and said to them
"Why, Mary loves the lamb too, now you know"

found this post on page 155, on an other thread:

This farewell song we're singing for you
'cause we miss you so, yes all of you
when you were good or bad, happy or sad
just having you near us, we were glad
we aren't worried now we know were you are
you're on that big stage in heaven playing your guitar
playing originals and some choice covers too
and when the crowd wants an encore you'll play 'em the blues
so please wait for us there, we'll come when we can
then our band will regroup for a heavenly jam
