I've been watching Dancing with the Stars off and on. Not a big follower, my folks watch it though. I happened to be watching last night and monday. Currently they are down to 3 contestants.

Jennifer Gray (Dirty Dancing) and Kyle Massey (some new disney kid prodigy i think) were the first 2 to receive the go ahead to the next round.
Long story short, Bristol Palin beat out Brandy for the 3rd spot.

First of all, I saw Brandy's performance on monday, and it was absolutely beautiful. Bristol on the other hand, was a stiff blob and struggles to connect emotionally to the dance. Her facial expression never changed from the mindless blob expression. These remarks are unbiased and practically factual, because they were shared by several individuals on the show. I'm sure that at least 75% of America was mouth-agape when Brandy lost to Bristol. I saw some of the other dancers in the past weeks as well, and the fact that some of them also lost before Bristol is an upset.

Last night, when Brandy got the boot, the first words to come to mind were "sarah palin". the highlight footage of Brandy's past dances had "winner" all over them. she really did a nice job.
i'm convinced now that something corrupt is taking place behind the scenes, there's no doubt in my mind. even if i were a female/feminist republican/neo tea party member living in alaska, i'd still say that there is no way Bristol should still be in the competition. She had NOTHING over Brandy.

i dont have concrete proof that something is going on, but id be willing to bet on it. this is too weird to not be intentional. and its not right if in fact something is up.
i think that a couple others on the show might even have suspicion. You could tell Maks and Bruno were hinting at it, they were pleading for more people to vote so as to make this show a more fair judgement.

honestly i dont care who wins, but i dont like seeing corruption and premature actions taking center stage. shame on you sarah if i am right about my hunches. this is highly immature. its bad enough she wants to take over the country, but it isnt enough for her to stop at capitol hill, she's gotta go the whole way. what can she possibly prove to everyone by making her daughter win this contest? that she's a great dancer? too bad she clearly lacks that talent, (not to be mean), so no one will be fooled.

sarah palin is a woman in government on a power trip, who wants desperately to get her way and to rub everyone's noses in her smug victory. this is what happens.
i'm waiting until she sticks her tongue out on TV, that will ice the cake.
Sarah, you are a horrible, evil person.

DISCLAIMER: Please do not make this become a political discussion, or interpret it as such. I do not wish to discuss politics here. It just so happens that a politician is in topic. I am discussing the supposed awful behavior which i assume is taking place, made by a specific person, status being irrelevant. Although mentioned here in context, the US Gov't, State of Alaska, Republican party, and Tea Party, and all personal political views associated with such shall be not be considered for discussion. If this does take place, I will remain neutral and will not take part. But I ask that this be abided by, I do not wish to have the thread shut down. I only want a simple legitimate thread. Brad, your best interests are at heart.

 Not even sure where to start with this one! You seem wild upset and that is funniest part. Also comical how you get in all your insults and personal shots at Sarah Palin and her daughter, while foraying into Palin's profession as a politician and how "she wants to take over the country, but it isnt enough for her to stop at capitol hill, she's gotta go the whole way" THEN put a disclaimer on it that you DON'T want this to "become a political discussion". You make all these claims that you are "sure" of and you are convinced that "something corrupt is taking place" and "would be willing to bet on" but "don't have concrete proof of" in the process.

Straight Comedy! This is no doubt an "Instant Classic" posting. Bravo!

If it's down to public votes, Bristol might win if she has a nicer figure.

My comments:

1) Hmmm ... I would counter that it seems you are a major follower of the show. I can't watch it, personally ...

2) Why are you so bent over a reality-TV show that is essentially a popularity contest? And Bristol Palin is the most "popular", what is so wrong with that?

3) I think you are buying into too much of the anti-Palin media. It may be time for you to make up your own mind. Just saying ...

I have to deal first hand with Reality Television... its pure crap but it pays the bills so i have to be thankful for it to some degree. I can tell you flat out that it is all fake.

Here is an example.

We did a wedding show and the producers didn't feel there was enough drama in the scene where the bride is waiting for the limo so they did a fake "pissed off" phone call to the limo driver to yell at him for being late... He was completely on time and waiting outside and i believe took legal action because it slandered his business.

As for the political discussion... i have to agree with Black Cat...

Reality shows are all about Drama, real or fabricated…that is the fundamental fact and their proven formula…Knowing that going in your ahead of the game…Like professional wrestling you almost always know who is going to win… knowing there is and always gonna’ be drama to the extreme on reality shows, (and think about it for real) It makes perfect sense that a better dancer was kicked off in lieu of generating ratings to a lesser talent….. that is why I don’t watch reality shows…. Like wrestling if you put some thought in it you can always figure out who is gonna’ win long before it happens so I can spend my time better doing something else….I cant even watch the Rock band or pop camp… what ever it is on VH1….. im sure in two episodes you could figure it out of who wins if you understand the network formula for repeat viewing….

Cheers
Bill

I must say i was shocked myself, however not that shocked, i've come to realize that half of the people you think are good get cut. The Sabrina chick from the Cheetah Girls was amazing like 4 seasons ago. She got tens from the first show, but was cut in like week 3.

I don't think Palin has anything to do with it. I do think Bristol's nation of young girls who don't want to end up pregnant like her are voting. Honestly Brandy hasn't been popular since like 98. Jennifer Gray is getting votes because she's Baby.

I honestly feel Kyle should win because he's a tubby guy dancing his pants off with Lacey Schwimmer (hot!). He's entertaining and i like him.

Bristol is drole and sloppy.

The show is called "Dancing With the Stars", right? It's funny how half the contestants are not "stars". Putting Bristol Palin on the show was for ratings much like they did with Kate Gosselin previously. Gawd bless 'Mericah and our reality TV.

Msvolpe, don't ever forget that it's also a popularity contest. I agree that on dancing ability Brandy should have been in the top 2 and that Bristol should have been long gone. However if the entire State of Alaska calls in and votes for her, Bristol just might win it.

And seriously, it's a dance show. Don't get so all fired up.

Next week Skating with the Stars debuts. Vince Neil is one of the contestants! This could be Awesomely Awful. :D
