Did I or did I not suggest this in your thread when you were looking for new guitar suggestions? :D
I think the GeddyLee and Aerodyne models are both good suggestions. Also look at standard jazzes, I've not put mine down in about three years.
But keep guitarring aswell, its really the same instrument after all.

I have thought about playing bass on a few occasions. I bought a Squier P Bass a few years ago to lay down the bottom end on a few recordings. The only problem is I don't own a bass amp and I'm pretty sure my wife won't let me buy one!

You shouldn't worry what your wife says, you should rule your house like I do...

Just last week there was no hot water, and man, I raised the roof! As the man of the house, I demand hot water! There was no peace in my house...cuz I hate washing dishes in cold water.

If I buy an amp I'll get no lovin' and I'll have to sleep in the garage!

Haha, just got to laugh at that - seriously. Just imagine advertising for Lous Vitton bags even more overpriced than Eiphone's Slash's signature guitar. Here, at the fender forum, where all we musical fellas' think about is guitar GAS and when to buy the next instrument, when you can't even afford it. That's simply a classic.

But, don't GIVE UP the guitar. Just give at a rest for a while - maybe longer than previous times.

Do it Nevin, do it. I went through a bass shopping spree a few months back because I wanted to learn to play bass. Just the race to try all the bass guitars around was a lot of fun. I must have tried at least twenty of them and I ended up with a 2010 Fender MIM Jazz bass. Good luck Nevin, I hope that you find your bass soon.

If you take up the accordion, you should learn from this kid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_QYIuQBhZU

Nevin, there's always room for both instruments, you don't have to foresake guitar completely to take up bass. When I first got my old Vox Astro IV violin bass I didn't play much guitar for about 2 weeks but I didn't give it up altogether.Did you look into the Jaguar Bass?It has a Jazz Bass slim neck that's perfect for someone used to guitar but has a lot more switching and tonal possibilities than the Jazz or P Bass.Anyway whatever you do don't get rid of your guitars because the day will come that you'll regret it.

Well do whatever makes you happy Nevin. Has anyone played the Roger Waters Precision Bass? I'm curious because my best friend plays Bass and I was anxious to tell him how it plays, but until I get my hands on it I wouldn't know. I don't play Bass, but it looks like a good Bass model for my buddy.

 WILD! I like it. Weird Al Devil Polka Rock Electric Fuzzbox Accordian. Nevin, The more instruments you play The Happier You'll be. Don't label yourself "guitar player" or "bass player" Just jam everything you can. You might want to give Drums a try. Keyboards too. I always thought wanting to play other instruments is what "musicians" did. Have Fun Dude. 8)
