My buddy came by this evening with his keyboard and we got a solid 3 hours of Jamming in. Just me, him, and some recorded drum tracks off my Spiderjam amp. When we were in the middle of our groove, I hit the record button on my computer to get some raw sound.

Here is what came out ...

I'm playing my green project strat. I can't tell you how happy I am now that it has been properly setup by Martian. This is probably going to become my go to axe.

Comments are welcome as always...

Very cool, bro. Make sure you share some of those recordings with us!

Oh, and thanks to the rest of you guys for the compliments. It's just some raw recording, but I was really digging our vibe yesterday. We probably jammed on that chord progression for over an hour straight. I ended up recording like 18 minutes from that, but felt it would be crazy to subject my forum buddies to such a long clip so I just grabbed a random snippet.

I love the sound of my buddy's keyboard, it does not come through as well on the recording, but it is way more defined and has a lot more bottom end. He sounds very shrill on the recording, but in the room it sounds great!

Does your four-track have some type of audio output jack? If so and if your computer has a line-in socket somewhere on it, then you can run a line from your 4-track right into the line-in on your computer. For my setup I have RCA outputs on my amp and they run into a 1/8 jack on my computer. I bought the cable at Radio shack for about 5 bucks.

Here are the RCA jacks on my amp:

Here is the cable

And here it is plugged into the front of my computer

Then you just google audacity and download their free recording software. The screen looks just like the controls on any recording device. Plug everything into the computer and just hit record!

Sounds good. I was just thinking yesterday that I need to get my keyboard out of the closet and dust it off. Sure makes a good recording tool.
