I started playing guitar at 13 back in 1978. Man been playing for about 30 years, over half my age!!! Damn I'm old :) But, those 30 years of playing guitar were great, lots of gigs and meeting/playing with other musicians.

On guitar I am a beginner or perhaps I should say "hobbyist".

Guitar for 20 years in a month or so. However There was always a guitar in the house, my Dad played Rhythm in Surf Bands around LA in the 60's.

23 years ago I took up the Trumpet and accended to First Seat in the High School Marching Band (which was also the Pep Band, and the Concert Band. Very Small town)

Mandolin for 6 years, Keyboards for 12 months (last New Years resolution was to be able to do a simple bass line with my left hand while concentrating on more complex chord changes and fingerings with my right hand. This Years resolution is to have a more active Bass Hand and get those Harp-like Arpegios)

I've been playing for over 40 years. And guess what has been hands down, my favorite guitar for all these years: A Fender Stratocaster.

Call me crazy, but after all these years, I, by choice, am down to owning only one guitar. Yes, you guessed it, a Fender Stratocaster, nicely tweaked. It's all one ever needs!

Been playing bass for nearly 3 years (am nearly 17 years old). I've had an acoustic guitar for since I was 7, but have once recently started learning to play. :D

Been playing since about 1979, but only got really serious about it around 15 or 16 years ago. Bass, guitar, drums, and keys.

I've been playing guitar a little over 37 years I guess. Did not get real serious about it for the first 5 years or so, to busy singing...Then decided to combine things. :D

I really love the mix we have here. There's plenty of members with a lifetime of experience playing Fender's as well as teens just starting out. All getting along just fine. It just shows, guitar players are guitar players no matter the age.

About 33 years-closing i on 34--it seems unreal that it's been that long. And I still have my first guitar--a Taro Classical (Made in Japan student model) It's git great rosewood on it, since it was cheap & plentiful back then. I love that guitar--but then I love them all.

I have been playing for over thirty years. Oddly enough, I was first drawn to the electric guitar's shape and styling. Only later, after discovering the music of Ritchie Blackmore and Jimmy Page, did I get serious about playing guitar.
