You already did, mate! But all the same, it's a nice view! You got any other angles?

Thanks. The sunburst is a 10-year-old Fender AVRI62 Strat with a neck from a Fender model called the Vintage Player Strat (MIM with USA parts, modern radius and frets). It's loaded with Van Zandt Blues pickups in neck and middle and Fralin with a base plate for the bridge pup.

That guitar is my Numero Uno. I love it. It sounds so huge and distinct.

What is the TV Yellow LP Special-type guitar? Collings? Gibby?

Let's see a shot of that. I loves me some P-90's.

It's a Collings 290. I bought that one in San Antonio at cool shop called Redbone Guitar. The only mod I've made is adding pointer washers under knobs. It was just great right outta the factory.

I'll try to post some close ups of all the puppies when I get a chance. The Collings is the first non Fender or Gibson that I've truly bonded with.

Thanks for the compliments.

Wow, cool I called it with just a minimal exposure side-shot!

I've never played one but they look bosstastic.

It looks as though the flip flops are Jimmy Buffet vintage reissues....

Quicksilver Reissues. haha.

Sometimes I put that DRRI right in front of me, go barefoot, and use it as a footrest. Keeps the toes nice and toasty and provides a nice foot massage when I hit the right notes.

LMAO!!!!

That's a beautiful Sunburst!! Why did you mix up the pickups? Just wondering, I'm running Fralin Blues Specials in my Strat...

Thanks!

I mixed pup brands because though I really liked the Van Zandt Blues in the neck and middle, I wasn't absolutely in love with the Van Zandt Blues pickup in the bridge. I had previously tried Fralin Blues, and though I wasn't in love with the tone of the neck and middle pups, I really loved the bridge pup (especially with the base plate Fralin makes).

So I combined the best of both worlds. At least in my world for that particular guitar. :)

Funny thing about that Strat too. The pickups definitely give it something. But it's the neck that really affects its tone the most.

I tried a few other Fender necks on for brief periods, including wonderful Fender Custom Shop necks. But the tone of the guitar changed when I did that. It always sounds best with that particular Vintage Player Strat neck.

So it doesn't get modded at all anymore. It's the perfect mutt the way it is.
