I have noticed lately that there are a lot of guitars out there with pinup girl decals on them. I have to say that even though I am usually a minimalist, I love them. My wife actually let me order one too, ha ha. I think if it's the right pinup for the right guitar it looks really cool. Any body else or agree, or disagree? All opinions welcome.

I prefer pin-ups on vintage military aircraft......

I've seen some "Vargas Girls" engraved on neck plates that looked pretty good though.

I think they're cool but have played in church for the last 20 years in addition to my bands, so none for me.

I do have this "tourist" decal on one of mine:

Where is a good place to get these decals? Im lookin for one for my trem cover. Also, how well would they hold up in that spot? Are they waterslide or vinyl?

It's easy to make your own decals.....go to a shop that specializes in model cars, airplanes, etc. and you can get waterslide decal paper (clear). It is designed to work in an inkjet printer. Make your decal, print it on the paper, then a coat of laquer after the ink is dry. Cut out the decal, waterslide it on to the guitar. After it has dried, bury it in whatever clear you are using (poly, shellac, nitro).

What sort of clear coat would you recommend for a trem spring cover?

I actually found those a few minutes ago. I was mostly just wondering if people were using waterslide or vinyl for guitars, and how it held up. Also, I was wondering about what clear coat to use on plastic.

Thanks for the links though. Not sure I have found that second one.

Roadie, I put the one you see in the pic above right on the trem cover. There is nothing applied over it to protect it. It's rubbed off slightly on a few edges, but I like the look.

So it's been pretty durable. I don't gig though, so I don't know if it would truly hold up in battle.

Cool. I might just buy an extra too then. My Strat gets gigged, so it might be necessary to replace it now and then.
