I don't see the point in paying all the extra for vintage when I can rock a brand new one just the same.

It's not modern instruments I have issue with, it's modern specs. Fretboard radius in particular. That's why Fender rules. Having all the RI's and Classic series instruments makes it easy and affordable for us poor, old fashion types to play great sounding Fender's built the old way, without having to mortgage the house.

Trixie, if you click on "Products" above- then click on Stratocaster; the first picture is a Strat with a Maple fretboard- the one right below it is a Rosewood fretboard. A picture is worth 1000 words :)

Thanks Scanman. I can see my strat neck is definitely Rosewood. The body, I guess it's called the body, is black with a white pickguard like the lefty model shown at products.

maple is harder than rosewood so alot of people prefer rosewood fretboards.i like both but i like maple best cos its eacier to keep clean and i like the vintage look it aquires when it ages.theyr also smooth and feel nice to play fast on.both woods have pros and cons

Now there's a contradiction. You like the vintage strats over the modern, but you prefer solid state over tube amps. Now does that mean one negates the other?

Just messin with ya man!

Oh yeah, I'm a maple kinda guy.

Rosewood. Just seems warmer. Maple seems brighter to me.

Both. All my guitars have maple necks with rosewood fretboards...and the title of the poll is neckboard wood, not fretboard wood, though I guess the creator of the poll meant fretboard...
