Ok. I know that this is a Fender forum but I would like anyones opinion.
Im looking for a new 7 string guitar. what do you suggest?
To norrow the field a little bit I play progressive metal(periphery, Veil of maya tha sort of stuff), something with a lot of bang for your buck, no trem, 2 hum(EMGs are preffered).
If you are selling something close to the above give me shout, but other than that let me know what you think.

airforce, i won't be much help as usual. one of my old bandmates played a schecter 7 string. he said it was a great guitar for not alot of cash. it sounded great to me. we also played heavy stuff.
off topic. unless you are just wanting the extra string, i've seen some baritone guitars somewhere made for super heavy strings tuned way down low.

If you can deal with having a trem, the Schecter Jeff Loomis sig is really nice. If not, I'd still go with something from Schecter. Ibanez necks are too thin, and cause my hand to cramp up. YMMV.

ibanez xiphos is a great guitar i played one and it was a neck thru string thru with a maple neck mahogany wings and ebony fretboard it had dimarzios in it but i think they come with emgs. the neck on this thing was amazing it was a shallow c shape that was more comfortable than any other 7 string guitar i had played. the schecters are good too but they seem to have too chunky of a neck profile

Hi airforce! Welcome! :)

I'd say +1 for Schecter guitars. Also you might want to check out Dean guitars, they have 7 strings also.

Hope that helps!
