I have recently been "hunting" for a new Telecaster and a new amp. I do not need either of these things, nor can I afford them, but somewhere in my pea sized brain there is a switch that goes on....and when this happens (and it is usually happens when thinking about or reviewing music gear) I start frantically searching and demoing new equipment. My mind turns and turns and turns trying to figure out how I can afford this expensive new gear...then I buy something and I am happy for a short period of time and then bingo, it starts all over again. I have however come to find that I am almost always happiest during the hunt...so it has got to be the hunter / gatherer in me that causes this phenomona.

Does this make sense my Fender bretheren????

Must be in the water...

Yup, that's me! I have 4 guitars and 2 amps and I want more. I just upgraded/modded my strat and I'm looking for the next "rush" in modding. Probably saddles...why? I haven't a clue other than I get catalogs in the mail and I log onto this Forum at a minimum of twice a day and see all the neat things everyone else is doing...so I gotta do that too!

I hate this Forum..:D

Actually, I'm torn between a Fender DRRI and a Egnater Rebel 20 for my next purchase in a few weeks.

Excuse me now because I have to see what other folks have written about what they bought...

the hunt is the best part IF you buy on impulse and end up not getting what you expected, but when you hunt and hunt then find exactly what you were looking for and a keeper, then that my friends much sweeter than the hunt!

I've been in the hunt mode in a big way for the past 2 years,I've bought 7 guitars,4 amps,a Vox Amplug, and several stomp boxes. My wife made me promise no more guitars until I get gigging or giving lessons- good thing she never mentioned amps or keyboards.

Well I know that isn't a bad thing buying guitars and amps! You can never have too many guitars and amps! Make sure not to put yourself in fiscal debt!

The hunt is always good, but the aquisition can be even better, especially after a long (i.e. years) hunt for a special piece of gear.

thats me, only the hunt goes for a very long time, as i'm only allowed 1 guitar and 1 amp a year. believe me, if it were up to me i'd be getting a guitar every 2 days.

I'm done hunting for electric guitars and amps. Unfortunately I just started playing bass and after reading that James Jamerson played a 62 P-Bass you can guess what I want <_< Stupid internet gives me too much information >_>

I agree the hunt is a rush, But the real rush is when you see that Guitar/Bass hanging on the wall. Or when the guy selling it opens the case and you see ot for the first time. Now thats when my heart skips a beat. :D
