but i do not know the answer
so i am looking for guidance and advice here
the question:
can we play an electric acoustic guitar
through an electric guitar amplifier?
will it caused any damage to the amplifier?

Yes you can.
No ,it won't hurt the amp.
Unless you get a runaway feedback loop going, that can damage the speaker
Also may not sound very good, that is why there are amps designed for them.

like the Crates acoustic amps and the Fender acoustasonic amps

Acoustic amps are better, but as long as you dial in a nice clean tone it will work. My first guitar was an acoustic electric, and I always wanted to play Hendrix, so I would crank the gain. Back then I thought it was the $@!&, but looking back, it sounded like $@!

Saw a guy do it live with a vox digital amp, sounded great. 3 piece band worked really well for the bowie cover where he had to switch between acoustic and electric sounds.

Just watch your guitars output volume, avoid the howling. You have to eq differently too.

Although there are many amps specially voiced for acoustic electric guitars you can still get a great sound from an electric guitar amp with no ill effects except the feedback danger.I have one of these Vox digital amps that Nikininja mentioned, a Valvetronix AD 120 VTH and when I plug my Strat into it and switch onto acoustic it sounds for the world like an acoustic electric once it's EQ'd right.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Played mine through a bass amp last year and it worked fine. Small house jams. Really can't remember even dealing with any feedback.
