Talk about your iconic song.

Just thought I'd share.

And most radio stations have played it about 5 times a day or more ever since.

When I was a Young Man,( about 13) and A friend turned me on to Led Zeppelin, around 1978, They were my favorite band for years, by 1983, I had heard enough. It took at least ten years for me to listen to Zeppelin again. Stairway to Heaven is still a song I don't care to hear anymore. Don't get me wrong, Zeppelin is a great band, John Bonham was My Favorite Drummer, But during the Late '70's and Early '80's. That Band was OVEREXPOSED, and I think I was traumatized by it. I'm getting better now, I can listen to the first two albums and a little of Zep 3, but I cannot bear to listen to anything on Led Zeppelin 4

Marvin, you and I are in the same boat, after the first 3 albums my interest in Zep plummeted.

68 when LZ 1 came out I thought these Bros can play. Aaron Russo brought them to Chicago for their 1st US show in January of 69 with Jethro Tull as their opening band, I had a date with a girl that night, I'm a guitar player, no other band is more important than unwinding after a hard days work with a loved one. I always liked Jimmy's guitar work, R.I.P. John Bonham one of the best rock drummers ever, Robert and John the bass player both very good, stairway to heaven was the weakest song on that album I've always thought and I don't really ever want to hear it again, IMO YMMV. ( I can't remember but I think it was Martian that always used those abbreviations, thanks again Martian 8) )

Over the years there have been a large number of great songs that have been destroyed by over playing such as Stairway.....,Smoke on the Water, Layla-both versions,Tears in Heaven,Whiter Shade of Pale and dozens more.I can't see why people still insist on phoning radio stations and getting these songs played and worse still are the disc jockeys that play them without their being requested.

Guitslinger, That's why it's a Rare Occasion I turn on a Radio anymore. The playlists are horrible and too many commercials. I guess I have heard the same two songs by any given Group enough times, that I don't think its worth sitting through 15 to 20 minutes of commercials and blabbing of a DJ to listen to the same playlist I heard the day before. OK I'm done

I was actually listening to Led Zeppelin IV today in the car. Didn't realize it came out on this day.

I wasn't alive in the 70's so no overexposure to Zep here.
