my index finger on my right hand (picking hand) just bled all over my strings and got a few drops on the pickguard.... i just spent the last 15 minute scrubbing it off with windex (nothing else available  ).... so any body else have a problem dragging there knuckle(s) across the strings? if so, how do keep it from bleedin all over your axe?

I think that means you're doing it wrong.
Until a few months ago, I had never changed strings without shedding blood.

You're probably just bearing up on the pick to much when you're strumming. Give it a little more space.
Also show all the girls the bloodstains on the pickguard. 8) then tell them something like "I play till I bleed, all for you..."

If you strike the knuckle of your index finger with the string when playing you may be curling your finger two far under the pick. This technique exposes the index knuckle to the strings when the stroke is more aggressive.

Try unwinding your index finger a little.

Hold the pick like you would a dirty diaper. Then slowly adjust it until it is comfortable (only the necessary amount).
