In that case I say go with the Okko Diablo, this guy uses one and he always seems to have some of the best tone I've heard

What is that? The caterpillar car? Does it turn into a butterfly at some point?

It's called "Airpod".
It's a car that operates on compressed air. Like a pneumatic tool.
I'd say it's thinking outside box.
How popular it'll become is anyone's guess.
Zero emissions with a hybrid diesel variant for longer distance.
Their claims suggest that you could travel from Los Angeles to New York City on a tank of fuel. (air tank refills might be another story)
Top speed 40 mph.
Est. MSRP sub-$10,000
Not a bad idea as a city commuter's car.

Thanks Nutter. I think I'm gonna get my local GC to order me one so I can try it out. I forgot about the nifty little single coil/humbucker switch. That pedal just seems like it has a ton of tone options in it. If I feel it's not for me then I'll take it back, but the more I thought about the mix knob, the more I liked that option. Thanks for the review on it.

You're very welcome! Let us know how it works out for you.

happy playing!

That's where I discovered that pedal. His tone is so awesome. I think I'm gonna go with the T-Rex pedal first and if it isn't what I'm looking for then the Diablo is definitely next on the list. That pedal has some of the purest tone that I've ever heard.

So I picked up a T-Rex Moller Overdrive pedal at GC on Wednesday. It was a used pedal but still practically brand new. Got it at half off which was even more of a bonus. Now that I have had some time to play around with it, I have to say that I love this thing. It is the best OD pedal I have used thus far. Crank it and it gets some good 70s classic rock overdrive tones. The ProGuitarShop demo is right on with the Taking Care of Business of tone. But what I really love is when you roll back the gain and tweak the mix knob a little you can really clean this thing up for just the slightest hint of overdrive in your signal. It really conjures up images of a 57 Tweed going into break-up. That's what sold it for me. The first riff I played with it was Brown Sugar, and it nailed it. I've never used a boost pedal much so that is something that I need to get used to on this. Well, not really, but I may try it out some.

All-in-all, I would say that this is a great pedal. It is very articulate when playing chords. I would put this in the low to medium overdrive category, and it shines.

While I was there I also decided that I needed a small practice amp to take with me during the holidays. I think most of you can understand that I didn't want to haul around a Twin Reverb. So I picked up a Mustang 1 amp - the 1X8 20 watt version. That is a fun little amp. It's very light and has all of the features you need for a small travel amp or even a back up amp for small gigs. The amp models are pretty good on this. I've spent most of my time on the 57 Tweed and the Bassman. The distortion amps are really good, but you have roll back a little on the gain to get them sounding amazing. The software that comes with it is a great steal for the amount that you pay for this little amp. Be warned that there are really no manuals with this amp, so be prepared to hang out in the Mustang Forum for a little bit while trying to get a handle on this amp. User Manuals are on the included disc, but there are issues that require answers over there.

You don't need to run any of the computer stuff to have a great amp, but FUSE makes it easier to program presets. The amp sounds great right out of the box and plugged in. I haven't tried it with any pedals, but I really got this only to have as a nice light compact travel amp. It will be perfect for that. I would say give it a try if you're looking for something nice and inexpensive that has a lot of options.

Thanks Nutter. It is indeed a fine pedal. I can't get over how much better it sounds than the stuff I've used in the past. It makes playing so much more fun.
