Newfoundland born musician Jim Clench who played bass with April Wine and Bachman Turner Overdrive died of cancar in Montreal Tuesday. A few years ago we lost 2 other famous Nfld. musicians to cancer, multi -instrumentalist Brian "Loud" MacLeod of Chilliwack and the Headpins and drummer Noel Dinn of the trad-rock group Figgy Duff.God Bless you Jim, I know that by now you're having a Heavenly jam with "Loud" and Noel.

Tragic. April Wine is among my favorite bands from the "great white north".

RIP, he'll be missed.

Very sad news. I live in BC (other side of the country) but I've had the pleasure of seeing all three of these talented musicians in concert. Figgy Duff brought their special brand of celtic rock to the little community hall in my home town - incredible! I still have a couple of cassettes I bought at the concert.

But, I didn't realize that Too Loud and Jim were both from 'The Rock'. Anyone from Vancouver will know Brian's amazing work with Chilliwack and Darby Mills & The Headpins. And Jim's band, April Wine, were touring the west in the 70's the same year our band was on tour. Justifiably so, we looked out into a lot of empty halls when they were playing in the same town on the same night. :D My copy of Electric Jewels in worn out!

RIP. You did Nfld, and all of Canada, proud!
