I love mine they are one heck of a guitar to play for the money. Not fancy but very playable.

Daughter had a new one for middle school jazz band.

Okay, playable. When she was better, she got a Standard Stratocaster and elected not to keep the Dano. Her fathewr did not elect to keep it, either.

Had an original...black short horn 2 pups...a less extreme pickguard. Hard to tag the year...maybe '59-60 judging from when I remember using it to record with. My first production electric. 3 of my mates bought the acoustic-electrics. Would have bought the Guitarlin, but didn't have the exra cash at the time. That guitar was freaky looking. Vintage Guitar Magazine just did a piece on it and others recetnly. We played through Dano Centurion amps, so we really couldn't explore the tonal range possiblities of the guitar. Different nowadays.

Neighbor of ours was connected with US Musical Merchandise which was located on Union Square in Manhattan. They were a major wholesaler for brands like Kay, Harmony, Dano. There was on other in the crowd. Bronze. Trashed the thing years ago. Who knew?? Stupid is that stupid does.

'58 Strat came next. Been Strats ever since.

Doc.

I had a sparkly green DC3 Pro (upgraded tuners and bridge) that I bought in 2002; it was a great-sounding guitar, and really looked cool. Great, greasy tone--especially for slide playing. I had to sell it when money got tight, but I figure I'll pick up another one like it eventually.

The only thing I can criticize about it was the fact it wasn't as "loud" as my other guitars--there was a pretty noticable volume drop when I would switch from my Strat/Tele/G&L to the Dano, and it would sometimes get lost in the live mix if I didn't turn up the amp..
