I saw it and was hoping for more also. I thought that maybe they would play a whole song or medley or something (they may have, I fell asleep after the intro. ). It was neat though to see that Strat in action. :)

I was at the Beacon Theatre show last night. Ofcourse i was really drunk at the time!

My impression is that it's just a guitar. It has an upside down headstock and was strung for right handers. But it's still just a guitar. It's the player that counts.

My review of the show. Everyone was great and they put on a wonderful show.

Johnny Lang and Brad Whitford were the 2 best players IMHO.

Eric Johnson was probably the most boring and Steve Vai sounded the least like music and the most like noise. But what do I know?

Overall I'm very glad I attended the show. A great time was had by all.

I guess that really doesn't make sense. Let me try again. Upon further reflection it was this guitar that had the upside down headstock:

I'm going back to bed now.

BCB, if you get a chance check out "10 Days Out: Blues From The Backroads". It's a documentary that KWS did... he traveled through out the south meeting with and recording some very talented musicians, some known, some unknown.

KWS actually talked about 10 days out in this interview, it sounds like a really cool project, i listened to a little bit of it on amazon. I might have to pick it up on Monday when I get paid.

"Honky Tonk" by Buddy Flett is worth the price of admission alone. :D

I watched the segment with KWS at the Jimmy Fallon web site.

I must say I was a bit let down. KWS was playing just fine and the guitar sounded just fine. However, the whole thing, playing Jimi's Woodstock Stratocaster, was just a publicity gimmick.

There was no magic or Purple Haze coming from the guitar. KWS wasn't playing any better or worse than he did the week before.

Without Jimi, that guitar is just a relic of the past, an old guitar that could still be making music, but now is just to be gawked at ...
