Really sweet stuff. Only the second time I've seen him, and the last was probably 12 years ago. One thing that remains the same is that while Robert has gotten flack over the years for not having much guitar (or as much as some might want) on his CDs, live it is a whole other thing. Tons of beautiful, tasty guitar playing. The man is just a master of melodic blues solos, and let me tell you, his rhythm playing is equally stunning, lots of those Curtis Mayfield/Jimi Hendrix chordal things that sound so beautiful. Nice tones, too, from very clean and pretty to absolutely biting (he also did a few cool things with delays and loops where he played lines along with himself). And, of course, Strats all night (sunburst and arctic blue). The band was great, too, especially with original bassist Richard Cousins (who always seemed like an integral part of the band) back after nearly 2 decades lending his funky vibe and grooving lines. Some old songs, some new ones, all equally well received. My only complaint, and it is really a small one as good as the show was, was that I could have done with a few more songs as they only played for about an hour and a half. But it was a smokin' good hour and a half (and Robert left me inspired and itching to play, which is always a good thing). To think, I pretty much went at the last moment on a whim.

Cray is one of the cleanest and tastiest of today's blues players just superb.

+1000000

The guy is amazing, he has just the right amount of blues, jazz, rock and everything else mixed into his music. Hope to see him some day.

i am officially very jealous. i'd say mr. Cray is very under-rated as a guitarist and vocalist.

Seen him myself a few months back SB, you've summed his playing up perfectly, sweet melodic soulful to punching out great licks and a great vocalist
